Apparently, this add-on is actually optional for Monster Hunter. More scans have been released showing that there will be a touchscreen D-Pad on the bottom screen, so if you don't care about an analog stick (and apparently more battery), you don't have to get it.

Also, I still don't see any reason why Nintendo would need to put a second analog stick on their system.

I don't know. But I'm not buying a second analog stick.

Apparently, people complained it needed one. Not sure if it was third-party or the consumer.

If that thing had been released with Smash Brothers, people would be rejoicing.

That second stick looks really bulky. Although Monster Hunter is some good news.

Yeah too bad there's no plans for it to come here.

I'm definitely holding off on buying a 3DS until we find out whether or no there will be a system redesign to incorporate it.

It is bodaciously just for Monster Hunter Tri.

It comes with the game.

This is like holding off on buying a regular DS to see if they put in the Guitar Hero button thing.

It is now, but how sure can we be that it'll stay that way?

I can see Activision wanting it for Caladuty; other developers will probably find reasons they OMG NEED IT.
Granted, it's not terribly likely, but it is one more argument for me to hold off and buy a graphics card instead.

there was also the GBA slot rumble pack

or the solar sensor on that one game i forget the name of

peripherals come and go, and nobody ever uses them very long/very much at all.

I highly, highly doubt that this will become a mainstream thing, mostly because it does nothing the touch screen can't, and is simply far more expensive.

Also, it covers the game slot. More than likely actually connected to game itself.

We can't say that for sure, it could just have a hole in the back.
Or I remember there was some three-way game slot thing for GBA sp, they could do something like that give it a new slot to replace the one it hides.

it's actually already pretty much been confirmed for Monster Hunter

it comes packaged with it, like the pokewalker and soulsilver

worse case scenario, it becomes the new motion + and nobody uses it except a few games, and they all come packaged with it because nobody buys them separate.

Monster Hunter for the 3DS... Interesting.

Meh, I already have about 4 games that I've planned on buying.

I'm still cleaning off my laptop from when I heard MHTG is coming out. And I'm with YCobb, gonna wait for a 3DS model that has this built in with a larger battery. I can see third parties hopping on to use the second analog stick and added buttons, it could be very prudent.

Still not a whole lot that makes me want a 3DS atm. Only Paper Mario, Kid Icarus, MHTG, the new Layton game, Professor Layton vs Pheonix Wright (Still jizzing my pants from when this was first announced) and that's it atm really

What the hell?
Why would someone buy a PANK DSi XL for the same price as a 3DS?
