Got Fire Emblem Conquest, any tips for a first timer?

don't get cocky, kid. Also if you're hurting for experience Boo Camp is your best friend. If you don't want to spend $2.50 on the map then my only suggestion is don't feed Felicia/Jakob any experience because they're already upgraded and don't need that stuff inside them. If you've ever played FE Radiant Dawn then you should have experience with rationing exp out to the people you want to reach late game.

Is there any incentive to keep Saizo alive in Chapter 17 of Conquest? If yes, how to succeed?

He's pretty strong and has decent dodge, so he's actually really helpful with clearing out enemies without dying instantly. You can heal him even though you don't control him, so try that if he keeps dying.

Fucked up and got Elise "retired". I reclassed Leo into a Strategist to compensate but it's not the same without my plucky murder girl running around healing everyone. I'm already on Chapter 17 so I'm not starting over again. I think when I do Birthright I'm going to play on Casual mode. I always forget to reset or not save whenever a unit dies.

Rescued everybody's kids from some form of shenanigans or another and now it's time to put these little shits to WORK.

Sophie is the best virtual daughter I've ever had

I paired Beruka with Kaze and got Midori and now it's really weird to see Beruka having Emotions (tm) towards people

I've been having way too much fun naming weapons in the Smithy.
Sophie has a sword named "Escalliber". Percy has "Axecalliber" and "Axe a Question" along with a pan named "Movie Critic".
All of my smithy'd bows are called "Bro", see "Bronze Bro", "Anna's Bro", "Steel Bro" and "Killer Bro".
Speaking of "Killer" weapons they always seem like an exclamation more than a name to me, so all my smithy'd "Killer" weapons end in an exclamation point, like "Killer Lance!" and "Killer Sword!".
Other dumb names include a steel sword called "NYEHscalliber", "Robin" the Levin Sword, "Throwable Stab" the Javelin, a steel axe just called "Axe"... let's see... a hammer called "STOP", a Mjolnir spell called "Not Fimbulvetr", two thunder spells named "Zibbityzabbity" and "Zerpy" and a Speed Thunder spell named "Alligator".
I have no clue why I decided to share all of that or where I got ideas for half of those names.
My personal favorite is "Killer Bro".

I named a Bottle "Vintage Memes" and I think I peaked there. I have Silas a sword named "Friendshipped" and a spear named "Camaraderie." Nothing too exciting for him.

Somehow I forgot I named a steel lance "Realy Steelin It" and a Nosferatu "Nosefarsatsyoo".
... And an umbrella "Bombardabrella" because bombard is the closest pun I could find to "throw" in my thesaurus.
