The edit function's there for a reason.

And yeah, I drank up the entire Mario Wiki page on it.

You do know that didn't need two seperate posts, right?

So, while we're waiting for the new games, does anyone have some good fanfiction regarding this series that they'd like to share? ':D For some reason, the fanfics tend to be less obnoxious than other series (though I still much prefer the ones with canonical elements and pairings)

To get the ball rolling, has anyone else read The Three Little Princesses? It's funny~~

Also Super Mario Bros. Z is what introduced me to deviantART in the first place, because I wanted to see the author's page. Sadly, this is discontinued/on hiatus.

Yeah, it's awesome. Crossovers done well are so nice to see~

That reminds me, there's the first part of the 9th episode released on his dA, but it doesn't appear to be on the NG listing. It resolves the cliffhanger from 8.

So I take it that Luigi's Mansion 2 would be a recommended purchase?

I never played the first game either.

Yes. It might be worth tryng to get the first game (since it should be dirt cheap, though Gamecube games have had erratic pricing recently).

The only problem people had with it back then was it was too short for the price you had to pay. Though, since I picked the game up for $20, it was perfect.

I doubt the second game is going to be as short, seeing as there's multiple mansions (this way you don't have to play in a mansion the size of the empire state building to get a good length).

Also, fun fact, the original game was designed with 3D in mind. They developed the game with the hope of selling the console with an LCD screen that could do 3D like how the 3DS does. It never worked out because of enormous costs (which would mean a potential $500 add-on for a tv screen the size of the monitor on a netbook), so the game was finished without using 3D.

This was why the game was filled with so much stuff. Like the cobwebs in various parts of the room, and dust everywhere you walked and vacuumed. It was to test not only the capability of the console to process it, but also to showcase the 3D as you could see how far the dust went.

It's pretty neat how much went into this game.

My older sister visited today. We played Mario Party 6 and lamented over the fact that we long ago lost Mario Party 2 god knows where.

I got the ROM a few minutes ago. THE MEMORIES.

I beat Yoshi's Island recently, and I just want to know, is the sequel any good? I'm thinking of trying to get it, but I'm afraid it won't be as amazingly awesome as the original.

It's ok. It's not made by Nintendo for one. It doesn't have the same charm the same feel. The sprites are nice and stuff, but somehow it doesn't have the life the SNES game did. The level design isn't as good too. The music is REALLY REALLY uninteresting sans one or two tracks, but yeah. It's not as amazingly awesome as the first game.

Cowboy Mario was Party 2.

However, I do like Mario 3 better. I liked the partner battle mode between boards in the story mode. It suddenly turned the game into a tactical strategy where you had to use your partner to outwit the opponent.

Also, Waluigi appeared, and he was great.

>Regarding Yoshi's Island DS

I got that game and love it. I also obtained it before the (GBA version of) the Original Y I, so I didn't miss the features that were dropped, like the lack of items (20+ Stars, POW boxes, more eggs etc.) and the minor differences inm that only baby Mario lets you dash, while you hold down a button (yeah idk why only Mario can, but meh)

I personally love the graphics and the music, theough there's either easy levels or frikken hard levels. There isn't a middle ground. The final boss is also more easy than the original.

Still, I'd say go for it if you can, it's a lot of fun~

>Regarding Mario Party

My only Mario Party game is DS. I found it a lot of fun, though I mostly play the minigames~

From all Mario's Parties, I enjoyed the second one mostly for the boards and the themes. And even though a lot people don't like it, I really enjoyed Mario Party 9. It's way better than the 8, the boards are awesome, we have less luck minigames, more events, and the "everyone stays on the same car while progressing" really turned out to be, instead of a sucky addition, a better way to plan your next steps, and use your dice blocks.

A lot of people disagree, but I like the way Nintendo takes risks.

I'm sad that they broke away from the original Mario Party developers. Eight and nine feel like bootlegged copies in comparison to the originals. I vastly enjoyed nine to eight though. Nine seemed the have the mini-games on the right track, but the boards needed work. If they had taken the boards from eight and the mini-games from nine, they would have had a good product.

I'm hoping when they eventually release 10 (probably for the Wii U), they'll have a collection set of 1-9 to go with it.

It'd be pretty cool to have the whole series on the console, seeing as we're going to lose 4-7 when we make the console jump.
