Well in the case of Scouts, I shotgun them down when they start running. It's all I can really do, but yeah, in the case of Heavies I airblast them around whilst flaming them to fuck with their aim

I'm a good Pyro when I get into it, but I tend to get mown down too quickly most of the time

Skins and soundpacks -- nothing too advanced.

They usually come with a readme of where they go, but basically you drop them in the Team Fortress folder.

When you need to get rid of them, just delete them. Team Fortress 2 has a system where it looks for folders first, if it can't find folders it has hidden files that it'll run them through so if you need to get rid of something just delete it and it'll revert to normal.

EDIT: If the one you downloaded didn't have a Readme with it, download another one or ask here, but they mostly tell you what you have to do in a .txt

Thing is, I've done that.
Various skins, sounds and maps haven't appeared in the game. If there's a box that allows custom content, I'm sure I've checked it. This isn't isolated, L4D had the same problem.

Some servers have a option to block custom skins so they don't appear at all or appear wire framed. You can check by writing sv_pure in the console if it says sv_pure 0 your skins should be allowed, if its sv_pure 1 some skins may be blocked, if its sv_pure 2 your skins ain't showing up.

Tried that, didn't work.
The only way I can download maps is if I do it while joining a server hosting the map at the time.

You have no idea how long it took me to get walkway.

For skins.

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\steamname\team fortress 2\tf\models

For custom models.

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\steamname\team fortress 2\tf\sound

I'm doing that.

That's the problem
I'm reading the readme. I'm doing everything it says. I'm putting it in the right folder.

You know what?
Forget it.
