Honestly, SFxT does have problems but people really blow it out of proportion. If it didn't have SF characters people probably wouldn't hate it.

I learned Nina after all. She's a ton of fun. And all you really need to know to fight the endless Kazuyas is that they will go for the punch-punch-low kick-overhead combo about 90% of the time and it's not safe. Just crouch block the third hit and get your free combo.

And absorbing someone's super or Cross Art with Marduk's backfist is so satisfying.

I think they are doing the right thing there, fixing existing problems and enhancing the overall gameplay first before throwing in new things. Sure they could do everything at once, but bit by bit is probably the safer way to tackle this.

So I've been playing more UMvC3. (Surprised?) Thinking of swapping out Nova for Nemesis, so my team turns out to be Chris/Nemesis/Akuma. Also Chris can be an amazing rushdown/close-range character if you can play him right. If you can connect a Gun Fire H (the revolver), from there you can simply run in and keep pressure on them, using the Grenade Toss L (the landmine) to make your attacks somewhat more safe. If you have some extra time, throw out a Grenade Toss H, do a quick combo, and if it's guarded, end it with crouching H or forward M (depending on what your position is relative to the grenade) to attempt to get some chip damage. If you end up missing the grenade, just cancel with Grenade Toss L, dash away, and hope they don't realize that the grenade you threw earlier is still there. Either way, you still get an opportunity to dash in and try for another combo.

Re: SSF4: If I'm not playing Guy I'm usually Vega. I stay away from Seth because he just seems like he's trying to be everybody at once, and I don't do well with "heavy" charge characters like Bison or Balrog. My strategy really consists of rushdown and trying to get combos in, but I don't shy away from specials or Ultras (my Super meter is almost always empty from EX moves during some of my combos). But I'm not good at the game and I'm pretty sure my tactics will get my booty handed to me vs. a more professional player.

So I think it was Syobon who mentioned last year that he would like to see more content geared towards people that don't know much about fighting games.

UltraChenTV, with famous community members, players and commentators UltraDavid and James Chen, is a show made to teach players about fighting games with different points of view.
More specifically, their show "First Attack" is geared towards beginners, and is chokefull of GREAT stuff about fighting games. So, you should give these videos a spin, as I guarantee you'll learn some useful stuff.
