daisies, I can't set my spray. If I select a VTF file, the game tells me there was an error while creating the temp file. If I select a TGA file, it tells me that it isn't 256x256 (it is). Did anyone have this problem?

Gif or png work fine. I believe jpeg does as well.

TF2's spray importer has been broken forever.

TGA is the only one to my knowledge that goes in and actually works

Anyone else getting horrid ping and lag? Today I've had a average of roughly 150 ping.

GIMP can't export to VTF, I think it's the spray format that the game converts the picture into.
PNG doesn't work, you can't import PNGs. JPEG doesn't have transparency support. I'm pretty sure it works with GIFs because I think I saw transparent animated GIFs before. It's not broken, you just have to set your pictures to the correct settings if you want it to work.
TGA works fine for me.

Those are animated VTF. Anyway, for sparys you have to put the vtf into tf\materials\vgui\logos and import it.

Err... why would we? The only thing our connections would have with yours is that they both require to go through Steam to run TF2.

Have you tried using VTFedit? I'm pretty sure you can just drag any picture you have into it and you can save it as VTF (but make sure it's a 256x256 image). Then, you paste it in the folder mentioned above (steamapps/(account_name)/teamfortress2/tf/materials/VGUI/logos), and then again in steamapps/(account_name)/teamfortress2/tf/materials/VGUI/logos/UI. If any of these folders don't exist, you can create them yourself and still have it work. If you do this right, the spray should appear in your game options, and if not, it should most likely appear after you join a server.

Statements like that always make me laugh. Specially when its said when I'm playing with them. But to answer your question, no I have not noticed an increase in my lag of 996 mostly because I don't think that TF2 will go any higher. I'll trade my internet for yours anyday. Hell, I'd even trade for half your internet.

Yes I do but only just recently. I usually end up being the topic of discussion or the server mascot. Or accused of hacking. I main Pyro and Engineer as any other class I choose wouldn't be able to hit anything unless they were afk. I could take some screenshots later but that doesn't quite convey the lag. If you want I could join a game and show you. You get used to it after a while. As long as your patient and don't expect to live long or get to the frontlines all that fast, its quite doable (relatively speaking).
