Hi I'm floating Lapras ^_^
idk, that was just the first video I saw. I remember most fish pokemon doing it too.

Sorry, to clarify: what's the source that they don't air-swim like they do in the console games?
Well, except for Magikarp. That's the only one that does actually act like a fish out of water.

But what about pokemon as big as a fucking building?

They get re-sized. Like they already do in the battle sprites.
If its like MyPokemonRanch, it'll still be bigger than others, but only by a litte.

Lileep on the other hand... how the hell does it even fight in combat? I'd think it should be be something not unlike the various cocoon Pokemon.

If I remember correctly, Lileep is able to hop in the 3D games. But I don't specifically remember it doing that.
The cocoons hop anyway.

Well, specifically, Lileep is supposed to be immobile and quite bodaciously anchored to the ground (same thing is reflected in the Anime).

It's evolution, Cradily hopped, but not Lileep itself.

Of course, I'm sure they'll make it hop for the purposes of HG/SS, just like they'll make the water Pokemon fly.

They should add an area of strategy to your walking team. If your Pokemon can't move under any circumstances on it's own, or it's a swimming Pokemon, it should require you to have another Pokemon strong enough to carry it, or have a second, land-based Water Pokemon on your team to constantly refresh it with water.

They need to get into the real, tight, knitty-gritty kind of stuff and punish you if your team doesn't make sense physically!

:x

Or, they could be really awesome and have Lileep attach itself to your head, and ride your body into combat. :awesome:

Right, that must have been what I was thinking of.
If I did have a Lileep, I could check it out for you right now on PBR or Ranch. But I do't believe I actually do. Sorry guyz.

That's just pointlessly restricting your Pokemon team for a reason that shouldn't be, considering this is the game that gives a royal middle finger to realistic physics!

I want my realistic physics, damnit.
We need some D&D-style Pokemans.

Well if there ever is a fully-functional 3-D Pokemon game that does not involve "snagging" in a lifeless desert region, I think they'll have to make you choose your team a bit better?

Just because I think it's more logical to Surf on a Gyarados than a Wingull. Even though I love Wingull. CAW CAW.

Sweet. You could wear Pokemon as acsessories! A tentacool hat, a cascoon backpack, A magikarp necklace, the possibilities are limited!

Why can't you ride a pokemon instead of a bike? Like floating around on a metagross, or galloping on a Rapidash. And how are slower pokemon going to keep up with you, while you're on your bike? A basket? Tie them to the end? The back seat?

I know all this is trivial, but it's the sort of thing that intrigues me.

They probably won't follow you while you're on your bike. :colbert:

I found my pokemon sapphire game (which i honestly do not remember getting), so I'm starting over.

So: Torchic, Treeko, or Mudkip?

Don't listen to that guy, take Torchic!

Beats the First Gym, does decent on the second, beats third, does well on fourth, destroys fifth, fails the rest of the gyms, but destroys the first and third of elite four, and owns the Champion.

Mudkip is.. decent on most things. Exceptionally well on first, third, and fourth gyms. And decent on the Elite.

Treeko fucking hates me, daisies my love for grass pokemon.

treeko is awesome and so is grovyle. though Sceptile has always put me off, since I always hated the way he looks.

I've always been more of a grass starter user mostly. though I admit torchic is also pretty useful.

Lileep should be pulled around on a red cart.
