Went to gamestop the other day for a Steam wallet card and found Zero Suit Samus and Olimar instead. Figured 'why the heck not' and brought them home with me.

Check your local Best Buy, restocks are pouring in all over the place.

Got DR. Mario today. Check your local Target, mine had a bunch.

That's either fake, bullshit or a misunderstanding

Target would never discontinue such a lucrative item

Yeah, Amiibo are hot sellers, Target has been demanding restocks up the butt, that's why they ordered over 80 thousand Rosalina, they practically print cheddar!

It's more of a continuation of what Target has done since Wave 3.

Immediately after all the bullshit happened with Rosalina (both with Target pulling out of Canada, and with how fast pre-orders/stock went due to their shitty website), all the online techs told customers that Target would no longer carry Amiibo products as they were discontinuing orders of Rosalina and all future Amiibo.

Then they ordered the Mario Series Amiibo... and said that was the last order... then got Jigglypuff as an exclusive (and fucked up the pre-orders for that aswell), then kept stocking Amiibo for all the later waves including a restock of Jiggly online...

At this point it's probably more of an auto-response to customers to shut the dialogue down. They don't want to discuss how Amiibo will be handled so they just tell people they're being discontinued in store and that's it.

This is also the same company that argued with people 2 weeks ago for trying to get the price of Amiibo cards knocked down to $6 instead of $13 even though it was a "totally reasonable" price and the MSRP of the product. And who still hasn't worked out whether the rule for buying Amiibo at launch are two of each figure per person, one per person, or 2 TOTAL figures per person.

Snagged Ganondorf, Zero Suit Samus, and 8-Bit Mario at a local game store yesterday. Mario's got some considerable heft for an Amiibo, the fat bastard.

Who would pay >30 bucks to import this thing just because they don't want to deal with exclusive hunting
That's just stupid
It's 13 bucks MSRP
You're paying more than twice the price

Toys R Us has been doing pretty well with their exclusives so far

Because I don't import on a whim? I got the Mii Trio through import with a little research that cost me a grand total of $38 (shipping included). The bundle itself costs $36 (the TRU tax of $1 more, which can't be price matched because it's exclusive), plus tax (which comes out to be just under $39), and I have to drive 80 miles roundtrip to get to the nearest TRU, which is a third of a tank of gas (~$8). That's $9 more to buy it in store.

And keep in mind these releases aren't all at the same time either. This would require a trip on the 1st (Mii Trio), 8th (Villager), and 15th (Mega Yarn Yoshi), which means an entire tank of gas devoted to just going out of my way for a singular Amiibo each time (the three pack counting as one item).

Nah, I'd rather import Mega Yarn Yoshi, extra Miis for customs, and Villager for my friend.

If anything you'll have a HIGHER chance of getting it if it's store exclusive
Look at the Retro 3-pack, they're still everywhere

I've noticed that. I find it weird... like they're alien amiibo from space with a special anti-amiibo-obsession ray.
Please tell me I'm not the only one legit bothered by this.
