What?

Where did you get that information?

Oh, they updated the page since I posted that.

Apricorns have another use. As well as making the new Pokeballs, you can convert them into juice in order to boost your Pokemon's Pokethlon stats.

Sounds like they only boost the stats in that 'Pokethlon' thing. Hopefully whatever this Pokethlon thing is, it won't be as retarded as Pokemon contests.

So we'll see.

Pokethlon reminds me of racing or running or something like that.

It sounds like the Pokethion will be less retarded than contests, but still nothing that great. The quality of it will mostly depend on how well they are programmed, because it sounds like multipplayer minigames a'la Mario Party.

I would join it with Electrode.

ROLL ROLL ROLL ROLL ROLL

Actually I just want an Electrode to follow me around in that game.

I'm unusually excited about that feature in HG/SS. I can't help but feel that it was a long time in coming. Something so small... But it also opens a lot of options for using the Pokemon sprites in the game world, beyond just following the character.

... I was like thinking about the game, and how underutilized the DS's second screen is, while walking around the world. That Pokewatch and Poketech are amazingly not useful most of the time.

Since they've now made sprites for all the hundreds of Pokemon, I can't help but think it would be neat if the next game manages to intigrate a Pokemon Ranch style thingy into the second screen instead. That would help a lot with the whole "I captured it then buried it in my PC, never to be heard from again" syndrome.

That'd depend on how powerful the next-gen handheld console is compared to how much power the regular part of the game will use. Because at the moment, there's not nearly enough processing power in the DS to handle loads of extra sprites and RAM-usage like that.

And, of course, that it does have a second, mostly-unused screen.

I know at least one DS game that has done it. While it hardly compares to the quality of the Pokemon games, I know the Digimon World DS had farms which would hold 8 Digimon at once (and you could have up to four farms, for a total of 28 on display), which basically did what I described. Small numbers, but still fairly significant

I wish I understood more about the technological limitations of the DS. But I'm guessing that those 8 sprites at once, combined with the normal game world, were probably pushing the processing power that the DS had (Since the game was very rigid about capping each of the 10 or so farms at only 8 character sprites).

Blegh, it would definately be nice to see some Pokemon that was a part of my team for ages that I finally had to replace, not to join the legions of Pokedex fodder that fills my Boxes. *nods*

Yeah I'm definitely excited for the whole "your pokemon are following you!" thing. Except, like, I really hope for those swimmy water-types, they slide/flop on the ground instead of floating a la Pokemon Stadium. That was just lame.

I'm also hoping HG/SS fixes the lameness of the Johto gym leaders. We've seen that the gyms themselves have gotten updates, so how about the rosters? Level 9 Pidgeotto is stupid, and Bugsy should move past the use of cocoons.

Also I want Yanmega and Magnezone but I'll understand if they are absent.

Umm... source? I don't remember seeing that happening...

Yeah... they'll be gone. FireRed and LeafGreen had a thing that first gen Pokemon (Chansey and Golbat, for example) couldn't evolve into their second/third gen forms until after you beat the Elite Four.

How are they going to deal with pokemon like Lileep and Dugtrio that are actualy fixed to the ground.
Also it'd be great entering a slowpoke in the pokethlon!

Well dugtrio is easy. You have gravel moving behind it as part of it's sprite when it walks.

Lileep on the other hand... how the hell does it even fight in combat? I'd think it should be be something not unlike the various cocoon Pokemon.
