I enjoy watching TBFP play "bad" games because unlike a lot of people who play such games for the "lol, look how bad," most of the time TBF say why the things are bad, and make pretty good arguments too. Pat is especially good in this regard.

David Cage games get more flak from them than most due to Cage's shenannigans outside the game itself, and the fact that his bad track record colors their opinions. I'll agree that they were pretty harsh on him, and not all of it was warranted. But is it not all right to criticize a game for having your choices not matter, or ruining all the dramatic tension by being unable to fail? Those are honest critiques of a game where choices are a supposed core idea.

I can see why other people wouldn't want to watch 7+ hours of that, but obviously enough people do that they think it's worth their time to produce.

Angry Joe's not really a LPer to be honest, but he just put this video up and I'm honestly scared for the future of my channel, my network, and others like it. If you're in the circle at all, I'd give it a view and a thought:

Gimme a heads up if I'm in the wrong for putting this up here, i'm still new here :(
Sorry for throwing up links out of left field, it's late and I'm upset

Wow, 5 minutes into Part 0 and three crimes all happened at the same time in a single room.
I can't believe Yakuza 1 ends with A rival battle in an penthouse in a building in the sky, and also that a 4th of the plot occurred in that penthouse.

Oooh, TBF Yakuza 4, interesting, I've always been curious about this series.

The fact that they're doing it is making me mad, though solely at myself. Y4 has been on the backburner for me for months now and the fact that they're doing it is forcing me to try to burn through it as fast as I can so I don't get spoiled by a video.

It is pretty good though.

So I don't really know what Yakuza 3 was, but I guess I understand most of the main plot of the series now (not really).

Yeah, that was rough. Pat did a better job explaining things than the cutscenes did, but even then, 3 was a mess.

This seems like it will be a cool LP though. I can't wait.

I still scream Raocow when someone fucks up simple execution in an LP, i.e. Ross, but now I have a new phrase for when someone cannot figure out the solution to an obvious puzzle.

AAAAAARIIIIIIIIIN!

Not that he would have solved the puzzle even if he did do the obvious, but if he had ever stopped to try throwing the chu statues instead of smashing them it would be semi obvious.

This just in

The greps used trial and error to solve two puzzles instead of immediately consulting the guide

This Yakuza 4 LP isn't progressing nearly as fast as it should.

I have no idea why they're sticking to 20 minute episodes.

Why are the Yakuza videos shorter then the Disaster: Day of Crisis videos? Disaster is like 10 hours long and Yakuza 4 is a 40 hour action-rpg!

Just a theory, but it might be because the last time they did an RPG (Chrono Trigger), it was their lowest-viewed LP at the time.

The game is very long, and with long videos, then they risk the same thing happening. Low viewership is lost cheddar.

Making the videos shorter makes them less of a hassle for people to watch, and hopefully it will keep more people interested. No more, "Ugh, 30 minutes of grinding? No way I'll watch that."

It is an action RPG, though. Those are a bit more interesting to watch. Also the Siren's song of Dumb-Soap-Opera-crime thriller-plot lines.
