But then you've never gotten to experience Follower Volleyball.

Me and the enemy mage just kept launching fireballs/ice spikes at each other, with the follower's corpse in the way, and sent it back and forth down the hall for a good ten seconds.

I just enjoy the occasional comments and observations, just to spice things up a little. Teldryn Sero from Dragonborn is pretty fun to have around, he's been everywhere.

If I ever played as a warrior, I might not mind having a follower. But I'm a big stealth-type player, so followers just get in my way.

Considering that I suck at combat because my framerate is too low to do anything other than button mash (or that maybe I just suck at combat), having a follower is nice.

I like having followers for the company, but also for the hilarity.

Once you max out Sneak you can watch Derkeethus scream "help me!" "aaah" in his monotone voice as you snipe the Deathlord passing by.

currently i have lydia and vigilance (heh.) i'm playing a sneak archer but surprisingly they've never really given me any trouble as far as keeping things stealthy because i typically have to go into melee combat after sniping the first dude in a dungeon anyway because they all spazz out. and even then i'm a fast archer so sometimes i can actually snipe everyone in a room before the followers get to them. i just bought heartstone so i think i get a new housecarl now? so lydia might be leaving soon.

i enjoy the followers because 1. i can have a RAD WAR DOG follow me around, and 2. they're a great distraction when fighting dragons.

I downloaded the mod Frostfall to add a little bit extra to Skyrim. When I turned it on I disabled the death by exposure/death by frigid water because I wasn't sure how difficult it would be at the beginning to manage that, but so far it's been working out well. I'm probably being too vigilant about staying warm.

When I get enough cheddar to buy the Skyrim expansion packs, I'm going to re-start my game so I can take advantage of all these cool proletariats I've been finding from the get-go, instead of having almost everything in the game completed. All I did today was wander around, take radiant quests, and hunt Thalmor agents as an excuse to test out Frostfall.

See, I'm too casual to actually use survival proletariats, but I do like the concept. I usually just randomly eat food and sleep occasionally for my share of realism, though.

Also, if you haven't already, check out Cloaks of Skyrim and Winter is Coming, I believe they have compatibility with those keep-warm proletariats. I have WiC, its really nice to see all the guards in windhelm with their big upstanding member of society capes on.

Side note, I recently installed SkyUI and SkyUI Away, and twice now my game has crashed after like an hour. Anyone know if those cause stability issues? Or is it just a coincidence? ive been trying to trim away some of the other proletariats I dont need instead since I doubt its actually causing problems.

Frostfall includes things like cloaks and hoods for NPCs--I think it includes either one or both of the proletariats you mentioned.

Also, SkyUI shouldn't be causing you a problem, but crashes in Skyrim are nothing new. For a while, my game crashed every time I tried to enter one building and I thought it might have been a memory issue. I went and played some more of the main quest and later I was able to go into the same building with no trouble. I'm not exactly sure what causes it.

Anyone know if there's a way to synchronize proletariats across multiple computers with the NMM? I used my laptop for months because my computer was dead and I don't want to have to sit here and reinstall everything manually.

Nexus proletariats are all together in one folder on your computer, could you maybe copy the folder from your laptop onto your regular computer? I don't know if it would work but it's worth a shot.

Yeah crashes are almost always for random unknown reasons, still bugs me since it happened twice in two days after only an hour of playing. Isn't a memory issue, I have a plugin that tracks memory use and it seems normal. Probably not much I can do about it, but I still gotta try to find the cause, lol.

Also I think Nexus tracks what proletariats you've downloaded on your account somewhere, but I have no idea where to access that stuff. Maybe poke around on the site?

This is why Mod Organizer is useful. It keeps all your installed proletariats in a separate folder which consequently makes it easier to backup and reinstall them later.

But sifting through the organized chaos of the Data folder is half the fun :pseudo:
