Yes there's some pretty sweet melee weapons. The Shishkebab makes a return, I got another sword that does bleeding and poison damage as well as pretty high damage from the start, and a dagger that does bleeding and extra damage on sneak attacks, not that I'm good enough at sneaking to get that close to an enemy. They're all special so I don't know if you can build them.

Don't forget GROGNAK'S AXE

I was watching Brock from Cockfighting Society play and he found that one yesterday. I wonder if an all-melee character is viable...

My go-to melee weapon is Kremvh's fang or however you spell it. It's powerful enough that if I get a sneak attack I can usually one or two-shot enemies.

Of course, I usually just stick with a silenced sniper rifle or this legendary freezing sniper that I found early in the game. The freezing sniper is loud but it gets the job done when nothing else does.

Fun fact: during "Call to Arms" Danse is immortal and will keep fighting synths forever.

i have been having immense fun with my pyro character

full x01 armor, pimped out flame thrower, shiskebob, ashmaker (flamemini gun), and all the chems i can put in my system

feelsgooDMANBLOODFORTHEBLOODGOD

oh and btw for you melee'ers, yes it is possible and quite viable. grognaks pants over in hubris comics gives decent armor but the point is 2 more strength for starting out. best weapon by far that ive found is the furious power fist. the furious makes it do stacking damage against a target, so that thing you are punching in the dick WILL eventually die to a massive hit even if its several levels higher than you

You can go inside of places that require loading to get into them and that'll protect you. Or you can take some rad-x/wear something with high rad resistance (power armor, hazmat suit, etc). Or you can be cheap like me and fast travel somewhere to make time pass without taking any radiation.

Sometimes I just go to sleep for an hour to wait for it to pass. I don't know if all places that have to load behind the loading screen would make sense to work as shelter, though... like Diamond City. Being a baseball stadium (no less than Fenway Park if I'm not mistaken), it's open to the weather at the top. I'll test that later.

I'm very pop flyin' to know that the shishkebab is back. After making such heavy use of it in FO3, I need to have it again. Just gotta track down the quest that I need to complete in order to get it.

Ah, yea I guess Diamond City wouldn't work. Basically any inside place that requires a loading screen works. Vaults for example.

Any radiation storms I was ever in barely gave me any rads, was I just lucky?

Nah, they're more of an annoyance than a genuine danger. I just pop some Rad-X when I hear the thunder start and see the sky turning green and my rad intake is minimal.

fry up some mutant hound chops and just chomp one after like 2 minutes in a rad storm. even with no resist to rads itll get rid of pretty much all you've built up.

I made a sneaky sneak character in New Vegas(3/6/3/6/8/6/8 S.P.E.C.I.A.L., Heavy Handed and Small Frame), and sneaking around is really fun and I'm also bad at it.

NV can still surprise me. Exploring Zion when I get ambushed by some enemies. A gecko appears around a rock in front of me, no problem, right? Except Follows-Chalk just got knocked unconscious after like two seconds. That's when the two GIANT YAO GUAI that tag-teamed his tribal booty start whaling on me. Even after copious amounts of drugs, I did not survive the encounter.

An all-melee character is a pretty viable build. I know a guy who's doing only unarmed weapons (such as brass knuckles), but those are pretty scarce. He's level 80 now, plays on hard iirc and is yet to complete the main quest since he likes exploring. He just needs to chug a ton of drugs and alcohol to keep his character alive, so he's always addicted to something.

I started playing Fallout 4 now, I mostly use rifles and medium speed melee weapons.

I was fighting Triggermen, whatever they are I don't really know yet, but I shot one of their heads off with a sniper and his buddy just shouted "Don't you die on me!"
Dude, his head EXPLODED. Your words can't save him now.
