I absolutely HATE Killer7's maybe-sequel ending. Not because it made no sense. Not because it was sorta stupid. It's because they did the whole "The End?" thing at the very end. If Capcom/SUDA51 actualy does decide to make a sequel I will eat my fucking foot. I'd love to see it, but that was some underhanded false-hope right there.
I believe the ending was partly here to screw with you, much like the ending of No More Heroes (when Sylvia says there won't be a sequel right after (or before ?) a "To Be Continued" screen). I mean, Suda loves screwing with our minds.

That is probably true. The only difference is the success of both games. I knew that NMH would do well enough to warrent a sequel eventualy so that ending didn't bother me. Killer 7, on the other hand, did rather poorly so the prospects of a sequel were very bad. That little question mark served only to instill a tiny sliver of hope in the hearts of those who really loved the game. Also I think I have abandonment issues. Thanks Suda. You Amazing bastard.

It was awesome and heartrending. But since I often try myself to Wild Mass Guessing, here's my take on the ending:
She doesn't die. She actually wakes up. Notice how her eyes are always closed, even when she's supposed to be awake? Notice how the object she uses to kill herself appears out of nowhere? Notice that, when you see her bloodstain, there are dream-denizens right next to it? That's right: Madotsuki was dreaming that she was dreaming. When she realized that dying in her dreams (aka falling during flight as a witch) woke her up, she decided to try and kill herself to wake up for real.
AUGH FFFFFFF.
PERSONA 4.

Basically there is this part where
You find the killer (who is apparently not the actual killer) and you have to convince the rest of your team not to kill the bitch using clever wordplay and logic. Yeah. I suck. And so we killed the bastard. And apparently WHOOPS BAD ENDING. AND I HAD TO RESTART THE FACKIN GAME. LONG CINEMATICS. UNSKIPPABLE BLAH BALH BLAH.
TT~TT whyyyyyyy

Why do all Kirby games end with a shooting stage.
Starting to piss me off.

Okay, so the end of AC2 was miles better than the first, even if it does leave more questions than the first, I only had one problem with something that happened at the end of the last real mission.
Why doesn't he kill Pope Asshole II when he gets the chance? He says it's because it wouldn't bring his family back, but he kill all those other dudes, right? And this one is even more dedicated to killing him and everyone he cares about? Does he really see no danger in letting him stay alive? At least for the sake of the other assassins? Seems really out of character, too.
Just my two cents.

why do you care about the ending of the game

shouldn't you just care about beating the last boss and that should be enough of a high to get you through a shitty anything.

Imagine you just beat a boss and you're feeling awesome. The fight went just as planned and you're all excited to see the prize for beating such a boss when suddenly the credits roll without an explanation as to what just happened...

An adrenaline high is only good if it ends well

It's akin to watching an amazing movie that ends in the middle without concluding

Jesus, that just hit WAY to close to home...
I just beat No More Heroes 2 today. The game itself was amazing, but the ending just kinda...happened. You beat the final boss, Sylvia saves your life, the credits roll, she dumps you back at the motel and then FIN. Ugh.
I kind of feel dumb for puting a spoiler alert in a thread about endings but better safe than sorry I guess.

Even knowing the not-so-great ending to the game, I've decided to devote some serious time to playing Borderlands. Even with a bad ending, it's an excellent game. It's proof that bad endings aren't everything. Don't get my wrong, it's a huge kick in the balls, but it could be worse.
