So I just tried out Rumble... got 14/4/1 with him, and most of those deaths were just really dumb mistakes on my part that I could have easily avoided. I had fun with him...
But I'm really worried I'm going to once again fall into the trap of tries new champion, has very good rounds with them at first, completely fails the next 20 and never picks up the champ again.

New game mode is so fun.
I got to try out a bunch of skins I wanted thanks to some nice people.

I've been thinking about starting ranked games but I don't know if I should just jump blindly into solo queue before doing my research like "how to not ward like a fool" and "how to kill Dyrus and steal his powers"

Got Jinx + Firecracker skin, definitely do not regret it.

Jinx is a great champ and her skin is the best.

Also, I've kinda wanted to start ranked as well but I don't know whether I'd be up for solo queue. I don't take kindly to elitist attitudes.

No use not doing ranked, just play your games and see how they go, in my experience most games are enjoyable, I only really see elitists in like bronze.

It helps if you go in with a positive attitude, even just saying "hey how's it goin guys" in champ select helps. In my experience jerks in ranked usually act that way because they're stressin' out too much over their game, so getting some team camaraderie helps.

Ive had some good games, some bad games, and some YOU DUN GOOFED GIVING ME URGOT games
This mode is amazing, i get to play urgot and i dont have to wait 15 minutes for my teammates to shut up and realize how awesome he can be.

so far in my provisionals I've won 5 and lost 2. hopefully this level of power carries over to the last three games.

UPDATE: Finished my provisional, it placed me in Silver IV. At least I'm not bronze.

I ended up in Bronze I after my provisionals. So close to Silver, and yet so far.

For season 4 I did 9 provisionals with Tuxedo Mask who is nnnnnot that good. Lost all of them.
Never had the heart to do the 10th.

Also. I am a big dumb nerd and can't stop thinking about and laughing at my own trolling of toxic players. I now find myself almost hoping that someone will ask me "Are you new?" so that I can respond with "Why yes, I was born just today." ADC "vocalizing" that you're a shitty support who isn't helping them? See how they fare by themselves while you go support another lane. Someone get mad at you because you didn't put up enough effort to save them with your pitiful entire kit, both summoner spells, and all active items? Or your being in another lane? Watch and dance in front of them next time you have the chance to save them.

I feel like I'm not getting any better at this game. I think Riven was a bad choice for me to try and learn at this point.

Can someone recommend me a decent top laner that isn't too hard to learn?

Garen's too easy, I don't really like playing him, it makes me feel like I'm not really learning more about the game.
