Oh god no. I bought Diamond in the first couple of UK release weeks.

So now I get nothing because I'm a brit and I have Diamond.

Screw it, I'm just gonna use this "tweaking" glitch or whatever to catch Shaymin and Darkrai.

Before I do so I will ask you guys this: Is there anything I would regret if I catch Shaymin and Darkrai this way?

I'd be surprised if there were no consequences. I'd imagine it could probably fuck up multiplayer.

No bad things... I've done it with the "Walk thru walls" code on my AR which is the exact same thing as tweaking... Just don't save in the mystery zone

I never quite got why people would want to cheat their way to getting them. I mean, its not like you plan on playing through the game again with them, and there's no actual benefit to having them except for bragging rights, which you don't get from cheating, and for battling, which is moot for the same reason. My only guess is some sort of weird insecurity about not being able to catch Pokemon inaccessible to them.

Or you just want to complete the Dex. Either way.

I'll start accepting that as a legitimate reason when the person only has event Pokemon left to catch.

I will never go to an event, and clearly Nintendo is never going to release them as a wi-fi event for diamond. If I'm going to get them, that's the only way I can.

I want them because it's just nice to have them.

some people want them because they think they look cute/cool. I think that's a good reason.

that or because they want that lvl. 14 flareon they saw on the GTS and it's the only thing that the other guy will take.

*shrug* To be honest, the event pokemon never interested me. Even though I had Deoxys. On ruby. With Feraligator. And alot of other hacked pokemon.

Shaymin is the most awesomely cute Legendary ever. That's enough of a reason.

*shrug* I had a friend hack an Oak's Letter to be attached to a vender trash Bidoof he caught, traded it to me, and then I went and did the event.

I'm a working adult, I don't have time to go drive 8 hours to a nintendo event, and 8 hours back, just to get the event item which is being hacked into the cartridge anyway, just being hacked "officially".

As far as I am concerned, and my game cartridge is concerned, I got my Shaymin the same way as any person who went to a Nintendo Event.

I just walked my way to Shaymin and Darkrai! But I couldn't do that with Arceus... but I still got the flute item.

I don't really know whether I'd be willing to cheat to get an event pokemon. I think I might do it, and then I think I might not. I'm wierd like that.
I think the reason for that is that a friend told me using action replay can mess up your entire game, and that turned me into a big chicken.

The only legendaries that I would go that far for anyway are the ones from the first two generations. I liked the three dogs (Or whatever they are, it's just easier to call them dogs), and when I lost my Emerald version I lost those guys too.
Of course, for most of the gen-1 & 2 legendaries I don't have to cheat to get them. The only ones that are completely inaccessible to me are Mew, Ho-oh, and Lugia.

Dude, my game is completely fine. I could walk on water or rocks, or through walls ... but not off the actual map in those black areas. I didn't cheat for masterballs (just the flute), so that adds to the legitimacy I guess.

Those three are accessible if you get Collosseum, XD, and Ranch. Or you could just wait for the remakes for Ho-Oh and Lugia.

Telling your game that it has talked to the Wi-Fi with an action replay is bodaciously no different than actually talking to the Wi-Fi. The game can't tell the difference.

It's not cheating FYI. There's a big difference between catching the exact same Pokemon that everyone who went to an Event got, in the exact same way as everyone who went to the event got it... and hacking a Pokemon to have max EVs or an impossible moveset, or whatever.
