Who doesn't need minecraft?

Anyway, Noffletoff, in case you didn't know already. You're one post from your 1000th post. Make it count...

Ive been a bit hesitant to turn up the difficulty because its pitch black at night, and i don't want to be ambushed by some skeletons and lose my stuff. any tips to make minecraft a bit brighter so that i can see a little bit, or anything i should look out for?

You'll eventually gain Iron ore back, and then some.

I recently found a massive vein of coal, red gems and iron ore, and even some gold while digging my way down a mineshaft I made. Now I have more iron and red gems than I know what do do with. I used some of the gold to make a watch so yay

You could always make traps with the redstone, and always keep a bucket handy in case you find lava, which is a great fuel source.

one of these days when Im not busy writing college essays I should post pics of the small village Im making

It has a cafe, a blacksmith, a park, a fountain, and some other building I dont know what is for yet.

Also underneath the city is a walk-in iron vault filled with gold

Yeah, I made one, and yes, it's offline because it's extremely unbearable right now. Blocks are unbreakable, it's extremely laggy, items don't drop, stuff like that.

How do you guys use torches to brighten up the night (such as in patterns, tips, anything that makes a nice light using the least amount of torches possible)
