I figured obscuring the camera would only work so well, since it can still see infrared.

Kind of wonder if you'd get penalized for it, since it could be able to tell if the visual and IR images match up.

Oh, news just broke that the whole share games with 10 people was bullshit all along. They would've been nothing more than 10-15 minute demos that would've spit the player onto the marketplace as soon as they were over.

I still think Microsoft is going to have less sales overall on the Xbox One because of the shit they tried to pull. Yeah it's good that they got rid of the DRM but that doesn't excuse the fact that they pulled that stunt.

Clearly the only solution is to encase the Kinect in solid lead.

The microphone could still hear you through the lead though, which is why I suggest sealing it in a vacuum.

The camera thing is actually more of an issue than the DRM in my book, for a few reasons.

1: There's absolutely no reason for it to be on all the time while you play. The DRM shenannigans, while draconian and ridiculous, were at least implemented for a reason - to try to combat piracy, however feebly. However, having this camera watching you has no practical purpose other than to justify adding $100 to the price. What reason is there for not letting you turn it off when not in use? What real reason, M$?

2. It's just plain creepy. The fact that it's Roz, aka "Always watching..." and it can tell your heartbeat and how many people are in the room is just... brrr. Who built a machine that could do this? Who decided that a console should know these things? What happens when some friend of yours figures out how to hack the camera and then pranks you with some compromising pictures?

I don't want to pull out the 1984 card since I don't think it's that bad yet, but just the idea that anyone would let this thing into their house boggles the mind.
