so far my plans for my house are coming along as:

Main Room: Modern Furniture and personal effects
Back Room: Regal Furniture and things to that effect (candelabra~)
Right Room: Bathroom starring my buff bod
Left Room: idk yet, maybe Cabana furniture whenever I wanna commit to grinding Tortimer medals
2nd Floor: PIRATES ROOM (complete except for pirate themed tights and shoes I'm putting on my mannequin)
Basement: Maybe cafe stuff, that would be cool

I've gotten to a point where I'm only digging up one/no new fossils a day for a while now. So I decided to start saving my duplicates to see if anyone else needs them.

I've got a sabertooth torso, raptor skull, dimetrodon skull, ichthyo skull, diplo hip, and spino torso. PM me if you're interested.
Also, I might not be able to get to you immediately if I don't hear from anyone tonight, since I'm leaving on vacation early tomorrow morning, and I don't know if I'll get wifi there.

The best way to get villagers to move out is to IGNORE THEM!

And by "Ignore" I mean "talk to them only one time to introduce yourself".
Talking to a villager more than one puts you on the "friendship-building ladder", and it takes a long time to get off of it.

Hitting villagers actually ensures that they WON'T move, because not only will it put you on the ladder, but as long as you keep hitting them then you'll stay put.

Talking to villagers and building a friendship with them is another way, though, because some point near the top they'll decide to move out, but it takes a looooooong time.

If you accidentally talk to them or you've been hitting them, simply make a new character, introduce yourself to everyone, and talk to everyone else.
