I'd say I'm pretty much set in terms of proletariats.

Or do our local experts disagree? I can't really add many graphical proletariats at this point, my VRAM hovers around 1.7-1.9GB.

The Warzones mod is a good one if you think your computer can handle it. Basically puts a bunch of small, random skirmishes around Skyrim.

The problem with Nexus is that it is barely fucking stable.

The problem with Steam Workshop is its search bar being stupid.

After lots of pondering, I ended up rolling a female orc. My first character was a female high elf. The vanilla character creator doesn't allow for the prettiest characters but I'd rather not use one of the more... exotic female orc models when trying to keep a level of believability and lore-friendliness.

I'm pretty sure I'll still use bows as my main weapon this time around but I think I'm gonna focus more on magic as well. I did very few of the Mage's guild quests originally because my magic skills were pretty poor.

Got it to run without any proletariats, but this thing saved my life. Walking around and stuff was fine but combat was impossible to do effectively at my framerate, especially since I wanted to use bows a lot. Hitting a dragon midflight is pretty hard when they're in a completely different spot by the time my command to shoot an arrow does through.

Basically it lowers the resolution whenever the camera moves. It's ugly as sin but combat as actually doable now, and I got used to the low-res textures after a while, so it doesn't bother me too much.

I won't dig into too many proletariats for now, so far I just have this and the unofficial patch.

Don't worry you don't need magic for the Mage guild in Skyrim.

I think the implication here is that the PC does have magic, even if they aren't a mage character. Namely, the Voice is considered a form of magic.

If you hold off on going to the College of Winterhold until you are very far in the main quest, you can actually be let in just by Shouting, which seems to lend this idea credibilty.

Of course that doesn't stop you from just using bows to kill everything while you're there (what I did), or solve plot problems caused by starting the Mage quests before starting the main quest (thus never unlocking dragons or the Voice). But you can ruin any quest chain by going in weird orders and using non-optimal skill sets. (Nothing in the Dark Brotherhood Quest requires stealth, after all...)

The point is more that at no point is magic required to complete any of the quests, in contrast to Morrowind and Oblivion, where you needed to be able to breathe under water or levitate for example.

Likewise, I completed the entirety of the Companions without using a sword, shield, or armor (minus my nightingale boots) except for the time they wouldn't let me use anything but a sword, and did the entire Dark brotherhood questline by rushing in and being loud and murdering everything with screaming fireballs.

Skyrim's not exactly good at forced specialization.
