AWKWARD ZOMBIE

I am enjoying the hell out of this game.
My favourite aspects so far are farming and murdering.

So far none of the planets appeal to me enough to really build a base on them. I did see that there was a beach planet and I fell in love instantly, but it's not finished yet, oh poo.

We just had a sort of broken shack made of packed dirt, after being on the first planet for a little while it started look like a bombed out old building, especially after we raided an abandoned Apex lab for lights and furnishings. When we decided to move on to another planet and packed away all the stuff, I bodaciously had a little moment where it felt like I was leaving a home.

I just got this game for Christmas, how do I craft a thing

It says I don't have any wood when clearly I have tons

you have raw wood

you have to craft it into processed wood

For some reason just-lying-there-wood and tree-wood are not the same kind of wood

I heard this game was going to be updated a long time ago so I stopped playing it because I was informed my player would be erased. Has this game been updated at all?

The game has had very slow progression, but there have been updates where player wipes have happened, unfortunately...

Right now, the game is just kind of there, no real point in playing it right now, it was really overhyped...

Soooo kinda the same thing that happened to Terraria?

I was pretty hyped about Starbound as well, but I haven't heard anything about it in ages so I'm guessing people got disinterested. I'd still like to try it but I'm not in a hurry to play a game that feels unfinished because of promised updates.

starbound was kinda fun until you realized it's just a huge ore-mining simulator

like the bosses weren't really much, but at least they were something in between the periods of Get The Next Level Of Armor

collect the red ore. now collect the purple ore. now PLOT TWIST!!! collect MORE purple ore AND ADD COAL TO IT TO MAKE IT STRONGER

I'm reviving this because the game is getting a massive update sometime this month, you can already play most of the Winter Update in the unstable build, so if you're really tired of regular Starbound, then this update might revive your interest in the game.

A few important things to note here.

-You can play as Novakids now.
-Ranged Weaponry will be more effective.
-Melee Combat has been reworked to include parrying and shield resistance.
-You can now find out about a planet before landing on it.
-The game has a better quest system.
-The Outpost, a central hub for buying important items and getting quests will be available.
-New, gorgeous biomes.
-Better Farming
-FAR better GUI.
-etc.

Guns fucking suck and are worthless.

bodaciously after not too long pistols start using too much energy for not enough damage, rifles are laughable, and this is all novakids have.

i don't know why guns use so much energy, just a little less and they'd be so much worth while

or just give us permanent upgrades to health/energy
