Oh okay, yeah it makes more sense. There was just no reference to "Mantis" or anything like that in your post.

But back to Halo 4, I like that they are adding depth to gametypes that were originally created by fans, such as Grifball and Infection (Now Flood). To me, it really shows that they care about the community as much as Bungie did.

Here's some new stuff. They announced that there's going to be a sweet-booty mech called the Mantis that looks a lot like a Metal Gear. As well, they turned Infection into "Flood", complete with new character models for the infected characters. (Sorry the image is fuzzy.)

Your thoughts?

Finally! On both the Flood models (been saying they should do that forever) and a drivable mech.

Excite +5

Did they ever fix the co-op so you don't need a hard drive? That was so stupid.

They've said that the multiplayer trailers don't use the campaign soundtrack.

They also released a version with regular music, called "Weapon Sounds."

I know it's not part of the soundtrack but christ, is it really necessary to stoop that low?

It fits the theme and they're just using what's popular to sell the multiplayer. I don't see why you're upset, nobody really cared when they had that Breaking Benjamin song.

Hell, Borderlands 2 announced "More Wub" in a trailer.

I actually liked that song, it fit the part it was used in. Now they're just pandering to the lowest denominator (read: the CoD audience) by using music that would never fit the game, along with ridiculous amounts of flashy video editing, for a multiplayer trailer.

For reference, here's the official Reach MP trailer. The music was actually fitting, even if it was a bit different from the rest of the soundtrack.

Sacrificing artistic integrity for a cheap way to rake in views is in bad taste imo.

It's just a trailer. And another thing is that these are merely internet-only reveals for content rather than full-on TV ads. They'll most likely refrain from dubstep for the commercials, if there are any. Maybe more live-action with soft music in the same vein as Halo 3.

Edit add-on: But yeah, for Halo 2 they used bands like Breaking Benjamin and Incubus to make remixed tracks for advertisements. I don't think they received any backlash for that. They're just doing the same thing here for Halo 4.
