Yeah it's been too long since I've played KHI so I didn't remember that perfectly, I jsut remember running around as a shadow trying to break things and failing, then getting HUGGED with the hug of love and coming back.

But yeah I remember some explanation of why Kairi has a human nobody is because when she gave the hug of love she basically gave Sora her heart and his ~strength~ gave her a nobody with special powers. Or something convoluted like that.

I would agree that it's one of those "don't think about it" moments but honestly game people should really try not to leave such huge plot holes floating around because it confuses the people like me who DO think about it too hard. It's one of my peeves about games...I get really into them and become immersed in the world 90% of the time and if something doesn't make sense it really throws me off and bugs me and it's like surely the creators saw this?!

I was always a big KH fan, but I seriously can't say what caused it for me that I lost my love to it. Maybe the fanbase, or maybe the reputation it has because of the fanbase. I really don't know. It's kinda sad actually since I had many good hours with it.
One thing I know for sure which bugs me is what Torizo mentioned:

Torizo wrote:
I don't find the story creative or interesting in the least, it feels like it's just playing out for the fans at this point. Instead of coming up with a genuine, good story they just sat down and said, "well, what do the fans want? More pretty characters? Drama? Alrighty."

I have KH 358/2 days sitting here, still in the original package. I don't know when I'll play it, back then I would've played trough it as soon as I got it. BBS is released now, and last time I was in the store I got me a different game for the PSP instead of this. I probably get it when it gets cheaper, but at the moment - no chance. I really don't know what happened that I got such a horrible drop of interest in it.

358/2 Days actually has a pretty good story, though.

I expected Xion, as a character, to seem extremely forced and unnecessary, but instead she turned out to be one of the best deconstructions of a Copycat Sue I've ever seen. (THE FACT THAT SHE IS PROBABLY THE ONLY ONE IS ONLY A PARTIAL CONTRIBUTOR TO THIS). Very tragic things happen to the main characters and it is great. pop flyin' ENDINGS ARE FOR THE WEAK.

Although, the story moves at the pace of a crippled snail for most of the game until the last 50 days or so.

I really liked 358/2. The combat worked very well, and wasn't even that complex.

Addressing the story, I think the slow pace kind of helped it. It gave Xion and Roxas time to have actual calm, friendly interaction instead of ALL PLOT ALL THE TIME. It gave them some fond memories that didn't involve fighting things, unlike most video game relationships.

And then the ending happened.

I haven't finished Days yet. I started it, loved it, then got distracted. I'm not good at finishing handheld games AT ALL in comparison to console ones. But I do hate Xion. Not sure why, but I do x:

Could be I'm a tad of an Axel/Roxas shipper but that's not usually a cause for me to dislike an obvious love interest so much. I usually hate all female mains though for some reason or another.

I kinda agree with you, Mander. The slow pace did help build a believable relationship between all the main characters. However, it would have been nice if there was a bit more variety in their interactions, although I suppose the idea was to establish a sort of "routine" so there's greater impact when the routine gets disrupted.

There was something about 358/2 Days's combat that really threw me off.

In most KH games, you want to have really long combos, because generally when you are hitting an enemy they just get stunned and smacked around and there's nothing they can do with it until your combo is finished.

In 358/2 Days, however, regular hits don't stun enemies at all, only combo finishers do. That means that you want shorter combos, as that way you will hit with more finishers and stun the enemies more often.

It's not a bad thing, it's just something that really threw me off for a while.

Whoa. I read pgs 3-5.

Here's something short from me

KH1: Ok combat, great story, FUCKING PLATFORMING!
KH Re: CoM: Amazing stories from both Sora and Riku, and Org. 13 is pretty B.A. Vexen FTW.
KHII: Liked the boss reaction commands, they made it look cool, but waaay too simple. Drive forms, ok. Story......The Disney worlds (upon first visit) were just movie re-hashes. But the second visits were amazing. Space Paranoids, Port Royal, and Land of Dragons were my favorite 2nd visit worlds. Disney Castle and Timeless River actually had some originality, IMO.
Also, Hollow Bastion and World that Never Was were amazing. Luxord is my favorite Org member in this game, but second to Vexen

Haven't played BBS or 358/2 Days

I have played and beaten days and BBS, playing KH1 and soon KH2, but i know the story very well. BBS was defenatly a great game, i thought better than all the older KH games. It's story was done well(exept they made Ven sound gay at one point, just a little). Its story does add more time to the serise, and possibly 2 more games, but answered some questions that needed to be. The endinng of it was my favorite part of the game, but i won't give any hints as to what happens, and i mean the actual ending. If you ever play it, do all 3 stories on proud mode(critical if you really really want a challange) because if you do it on normal you have to colect EVERYTHING in the game. This would be as difficult as, well, just listen to me. Play this game, best KH game in my opinon, and i have played all KH games, just not beat all them.

Also, out of the games I played, I like CoM's battle system...I think it's cause I like thinking card strategies, but

I'VE BEATEN
VANITAS REMNANT
YES

And then I try to fight Mysterious Stranger and get my booty kicked so badly that I don't think it will ever be the same again.

At least Mysterious Stranger has the decency to kill me in fairly awesome ways, I guess.

And the music's pretty good.

You probably wouldn't like BBS cause it is rehashes usually in the worlds, except Hercules where he's a teenager

KH1 has a special place iin my heart and is one of my favorite games. I'm a huge sap for classic Disney, and the heart and soul of all those loveable characters is captured in the game. I also loved the gameplay, the bosses, the levels (yes, even the platforming was tolerated) and I did enjoy the story. I wish they could have jsut left it at the first one but...ehh.
KH2 isn't a bad game. In fact it's a pretty awesome game, and I like it. It's just that it's so daisies easy, the story isn't quite as engaging as the first one (except for most everything concerning the Organization, who I will always fangasm for) and there didn't seem to be quite as much individual character or difference between the keyblades. My biggest complaint was the change in Riku's character from that of the first game. I enjoyed the game none the less, though.
Chain of Memories was alright. I myself only played the port to the PS2, so I'm not sure how much better or worse the GBA version is. I liked the story, to be honest, and Marluxia made a good change of pace, villain-wise. Riku's story was also fun to play through...because you got to be Riku. That being said, the card battling system threw me completely for a loop, and rather than challenging me in the game, it seemed to do nothing but hold me down and restrain my ability to do anything (until later in the game when I could finaly set my deck in order with good cards.
I haven't played any of the games beyond that, so that's where my opinion on the series ends. I love the series, but I wish it could have simply done with the two direct sequels.

The GBA CoM is way more frustrating. PS2 is way better, since they added the fight with Zexion to Riku's story. CoM has to be my favorite game, mainly because Sora and Riku both have character development. Sora's bonds are tested, and Riku has to choose between light and dark. Also, the Organization is way more bad booty in my opinion, mainly due to most of the good ones in this game. The only two good ones in KHII were Luxord and Xigbar.
