Okay, so it turns out that my starter hacker (which changes the rival's pokemon too) changes the starter of Jack Noir only in the first battle. This also means that we both have the exact same team, except his Spearow is one level higher than mine.

Since this is a nuzlocke run, I can only catch the first Pokemon I see on every route/town/whatever. If I run into a Geodude in a cave or something, I suppose I'll use that name.
