So I got the Villager. I don't have a Wii U (yet?) but whatever, he's cute and I had a 10€ coupon.

Those translucent support pieces are kinda irritating though :/

I'm gonna guess somewhere that takes the euro, so probably Europe somewhere. I think they have far less of a supply issue over there.

Pretty sure the Americans scrambling to find cheap Amiibos on the foreign market have diminished that statement a bit

The cheap part is negated by the fact that you also have to pay for international shipping.

In a store of the real;- chain, think of it like a German Walmart-ish kinda thing. They got something of everything, groceries, multimedia, toys, bikes, clothes, I don't even.
They only got a couple amiibos, but two were villagers and I grabbed one of them.
I dunno about other stores; real;- just isn't really the place people usually go looking when they hunt for things. Might be just that.

As far as AquaBat's statement goes, there's still the difference between finding stuff in online stores that ship globally versus finding them in local stores. Once it's on a store shelve, it isn't all that likely to happen to find its way onto an online marketing platform. If it does, it probably only does so with immense pricing and shipping costs. Just a guess though, I haven't exactly been checking. If I were to ship and amiibo-sized package to the US, that'd cost more than the amiibo itself.

IWATA SAYS STRAIGHT UP TO OUR FACES THAT HE IS PROMOTING ARTIFICIAL SCARCITY
Okay not really but his explanation of restocking the amiibos is pretty terrible and he's practically threatening to pull the plug on some out of stock amiibos if we don't get on our knees and beg

EDIT: He's also ignorant as fuck

Further info shared at the financial results briefing: Nintendo is planning to incorporate NES and SNES time-limited demos similar to the Masterpieces in Super Smash Bros. into certain amiibos. One run limited edition amiibos were also mentioned; Nintendo is definitely doing this at some point. Gold and Silver Mario confirmed?

Wal-Mart's website had the Sonic Amiibo in stock for eleven minutes a few hours ago. This supply and demand is whack.

I was sort of hoping gold and silver Mario would be gold and platinum Mario for the last Club Nintendo status rewards.

I thought they were more or less already confirmed, but unofficially? The stuff at the bottom of this article looks pretty legit.

Yes, we've all seen the product registration documents, but those can be faked

Here's more info on upcoming amiibo related shenanigans.
You're probably goint to want to run this through a webpage translator.

So does it come with Mario Party 10 then? Might make it harder for scalpers then.

My local Walmart recently expanded their amiibo selection, actually!

In addition to 2 racks of Samus, 1 of DK, 1 of Mario, 1 of Pikachu, and 1 of Yoshi, we now also have 2 of Luigi! Yaaayyyyyy. THere are also like 2 individual Toon Link mixed in there as well.

Unless I get in a preorder, I guarantee I will not be able to buy it.
