oh man I totally actually forgot about THAT first one, haha yeah, that was totally awesome, I played shop keeper, fun times.

But no, the one I call my crowning achievement is the one with the city wall. I really loved that setup I had going with everything that worked, the currency, the shops, the job system, the plot claims. did you know I had the world setup to be pvp? but everything inside the wall was set to peaceful mode, you couldnt die in the city. Then within the map was set to normal mode. Everything outside the map was considered wildernesslolrunescape and you could do anything, no rules.

Although no rules usually doesnt work because someone becomes salty about losing things.

Paying for a host usually ends up the same way, idk I feel people get too bored of minecraft quickly.

Buy god do I ever want to try and do AZcraft again, the first server, that was the best, best times.

Id love to play with you guys, but my mind has some weird aversion to minecraft proletariats and I cant comprehend how to download them.

Most of the servers I host are vanilla.

I think I hosted a FTB one for a month but everyone got bored of that too.

Resonant Rise is my favorite modpack and may require a beefyish computer to run well, but it's easy to get!
https://www.atlauncher.com/downloads?
I think the most recent Noff one was FeedTheBeast, which used the FeedTheBeast launcher. Resonant Rise uses ATLauncher, which is a separate thing from the Minecraft.exe you click to run standard MC. The launchers handle EVERYTHING to do with downloading and installing modpacks, and each launcher usually has 20+ different modpacks to choose from, and you can pick and choose which proletariats to use in which pack. It's excellent. You seriously CANNOT have any problems installing the ATLauncher unless you select the wrong one for your OS.

.....it took me almost 8 hours to get ATL to work, and after that my laptop couldn't handle the mod i was trying to download.
I dont understand why but some wiring in my brain just shorts out when it comes to installing proletariats, the only mod ive successfully played is tinkers construct and I had to get my 11 year old cousins help to download it.

Trying to manually install each mod is the critical mistake you seem to be making. That is indeed an impossible to manage massive pain in the booty.

I once had an idea of doing a chrono trigger type theme for a server, where players would spawn in The End of Time, it would be setup just like in the game, and there would be the blue portals players could take to other worlds, which would have different settings for each world. pvp, creative, hard mode, stuff like that.

Edit: The End of Time would be in the ender biome, which would be awesome!

I was actually on a server that did that once! Not Chrono Trigger themed, but there were multiple worlds for different themes and there was a hub world of a system of floating islands in an endless expanse, locked into perpetual night. It was pretty dang awesome, honestly.
If I remember correctly we had a few different worlds, vanilla survival, creative, all underground, and a windwaker style world.

This is the clearest image I could get of the entire map in one screengrab.

Potentially the final version. Yay!

3k x 3k, world height adjusted to 60 blocks higher than normal, fun times all around, etc., etc.
I just have to turn clouds off because that's kind of exactly the correct height for clouds to just creep along the ground. *shrug*

This took me a cumulative MORE THAN 6 HOURS to make. Is it complex? nah, I'm just really shit.

if someone wants a survival version of this I guess I could make one. :eng101:

But that means you can have Silent Hill if you just turn the render distance down a bit.

A while back they added a bunch of different stone types. It could have been a great idea, but they're spread randomly throughout the terrain like ores are, making them look like great big splotches of acne on the map's stone face.

The only thing those three rocks are good for is decoration.

I used polished granite and diorite to make my base's floor look like the inside of a dragon fruit.

The first server was most definitely funtimes, it'd be great to have something like that again. :'> I've been wanting to play on a server for a while, but it's always more fun with friends than it is with random strangers.

Everytime I want to make a server again, I sit here and think "I should wait for the minecraft API before I do any serious work"

MEANWHILE, 5 YEARS LATER.
