When they advertised in Trade Chat that they were gonna raid Stormwind, I thought awesome, I'll join the raid.
Little did I know what catastrophe would befall us.
Apparently, the leader had decided one raid group weasnt enough, and was going for 4 40man groups. He succeeded, of course, but here's the thing about getting 160 people together. 1 is the lag, two is the time. What is the alliance doing in that time? Well, having heard of the oncoming 160 person raid, they had plenty of time to mount a defense. Now no matter how many people they bring, all we'd have to do is kill the King before they get us all, right? Seems simple, no?
No. See here's where point one comes back into play: the lag. I happened to scout inside as a ghost before the raid started and I saw it: every single person had their summonable Yak from that one quest, fire works, meteors, blizzards, banners to block our sight THEY HAD IT ALL. They knew numbers wouldn't kill us OR save their King. I hadn't reported the lag inducing things in there because I technically wasn't scouting, but rather getting my corpse from a midflight drop. But I saw it coming. Eventually the countdown had started, all raid groups going in at once.
It was a massacre.
You couldn't cast a spell without taking 10 seconds for it to register, AoE damage flying at you from all directions. I thought to escape, but couldn't move from the lag. I eventually decided to run, I knew it was hopeless, but as soon as I got far enough away to end the lag, everything happened at once to me. Damage, slows, and that AoE death grip thingy pulling me back into the lag. I tried running again, only to be feared and stunned. Of course because of the lag, it didn't realize the fear/stun had ended, and I had stayed motionless for even longer than I should have. By the time I got out again another death grip got me! Finally I got to some safety, only to be killed by a hunter.
But the story does not end there.
I happened to start running back when I got a rez. I was surprised it was safe enough to rez me, and accepted. I was rezzed up onto a normally unreachable ledge above the throne. Apparently, there was so much lag that a healer could fly into the throne room and land on a ledge before dismounting. One of the resurrected players immediately fell off. We held out for a bit, dodging druidbeams, but then alliance started flying up here too. We got a warrior but it was too much, I tried to jump with my parachute but no, I got frozen midair by a rogue mage. I died frozen, falling, and with so much lag, that I fell through the floor of the SW Keep and onto a grassy field beneath the castle. I even took a screenshot it was so crazy.

I corpse ran for 5 minutes, but my body was unreachable, so I had to go to the deeprun tram to rez with some others. Which would be fine if it weren't for the lvl90 alliances that followed us in. I quickly ran out, popped my bubble and nitro belt, jumped out over the lake on my parachute, mounted and flew off in a thrilling escape I can never live up to again. I was followed, and just barely managed to hearth before being hit. The raid fell apart after that. I don't know if everyone made it out alive. I don't know if they'll ever make it out of SW with how vicious allies are on ED. All I can say for sure is that I am a survivor of what will one day be known as the Stormwind Massacre.
