Has anyone noticed hostile mobs despawning when day breaks? It's been happening with me on every difficulty.

Unless you mean solely creepers and spiders then it's because they're dying.

On certain particle settings, you can't see the mob fire from a specific distance, so it may seem like they're despawning instead of dying.

I have the feed the beast server up, had it on earlier but FTB itself wasn't working.

50.88.65.108

Edit: Yeah FTB isn't working for me anymore, and I can't figure it out.

FTB wasn't working for me last night but it is now for some reason, maybe it was their update servers, but if you're able to put your server back up I'll pop on

I have a problem where it wont download any of the proletariats it's supposed to, so i'm basically playing normal MC through the FTB launcher.

Edit: my brother got FTB to work, and the server is confirmed up and working.

Been playing FTB with Cafall on my guild's server. It's so much fun. Oh Forestry, how I have missed your sweet embrace.

Even in Tekkit I've never really played much with Forestry so I have no idea what to do or what the benefits are.

I know you can make a (mostly?) self sustaining tree farm as well as biofuel for them as well as for BC?
And bees are part of this correct?

You can make self-sustaining farms of ANY type (except potatoes, carrots, and cocoa beans I think - there've been updates since I last played with Forestry but I don't think they've worked in those crops just yet). The main benefit of Forestry is low-maintenance gardening. It's also just a lot of fun, imo.

Beekeeping is fun! I am just starting to experiment with it (it was broken when I was playing Tekkit a while ago), but it adds a new element to the game that's pretty fun and semi-neurotic in a "gotta catch'em all" kind of way.

The wiki's been updated and has some really good info. If you want to try out FTB I could give you the info to my guild's server, just shoot me a PM.

I think I'm finally starting to understand part of FTB.

It's remarkably easy to get tons of minerals using mining turtles and a combination of engines, transport pipes, macerators, and electric furnaces.

Coke furnaces help too.

Edit: In terms of tutorials, watching the mindcrack peeps play FTB has helped dramatically as they're figuring stuff out too.

Edit: Anyone else having issues with FTB crashing every so often?

Is FTB multiplayer? Is it as good as tekkit?

Yes, and pretty much, it has a good chunk of the proletariats Tekkit does and iirc, it runs a more recent version of MC as well

FTB is both single player and multiplayer

Can someone point me to how I download/install FTB? A good friend of mine who took me in on my first raiding server has convinced me to try it, but I can't figure out how.

I'm probably missing something really really obvious.

EDIT: Nevermind. I'm dumb. It was obvious as fawk.

Just go to http://www.feed-the-beast.com/

It has an installer so you don't have to worry about installing the individual proletariats
