AZ's been needing a not-Tekkit server for me to play on.

That would be fun. I miss playing multiplayer.

Word, I really had high hopes for a Hack/Mine server with a tightly knit community with a sort of base.
Like a self made Mystery Dungeon game. But with less roleplaying and more building.

Then go ahead. It isn't that difficult to set up a basic server.

Just make sure you have about 50MB of RAM per player and a fairly decent internet connection. If you want it to be 24/7, then I can heartily recommend Allgamer.net That is the host we have been using.

Man I am more psyched about LAN worlds than I should ever be considering how nobody in my house besides me plays Minecraft.
Oh well there's always Hamachi.

Ablu2 and I will be putting our server up again once 1.3 comes out. So whenever that happens, feel free to join and have shenanigans with the new features like Books, Cocoa Plants, different wood types for slabs, stairs, etc, and all sorts more stuff~!

We just got a new modem/router/idkwhocares, and our internet speed might be higher then it was. With the new device came a new IP, so it is now 50.88.65.108, not 68.whatever.it.was.

Guys, I love to play Minecraft, and it works best on my brothers laptop, which I am using right now.
He says that Minecraft slows down his computer, but I don't see a problem when I play it.
Do you guys know if he's right, that it slows down a laptop like this one?
Its a Dell laptop, Windows 7, CORE Intel 13 all that smart stuff.

Minecraft uses a ton of CPU power when you play it. The graphics are simple but the game engine is way more complicated than you'd think.

So yes, it would make any laptop slow down. Laptops don't usually have the kind of power needed to play lots of games.

Well, I am 20 ping, 20 download, and 5 upload. Ablu hosts it though, so its his speed that matters. Still, it gives a relative idea of how fast it is, I guess...

Wish I had 5 upload :<

It's decent, mine is 20 down 1 up, my internet can only handle 5-6 people.

40 download 5 upload 25 ping. And this is while I have League of Legends open in the background, if that means anything.
