A. There's a lot more variety of top-tier shit in Terraria, especially all the crazy items and boss battles. In theory PVP is supposed to be post-endgame but I can see how that's not a great solution. Terraria is still getting constantly updated, and the updates mainly cater to higher and higher levels of equipment, rewards, bosses, biomes etc. Hopefully the content will give you reason to keep playing?
There is a lot of top-tier shit in Terraria. It's fun to find and craft, and it's really one of the games best points.
Here's the thing though, if you just play Terraria normally? You can actually
skip most of it without even realizing. I never got Silver, or even Gold Armor or weapons in Terraria. Me and my friend essentially just spammed Cthulhu's Eye until we had Nightmare Picks, then went down as far as we could and got Hellstone. I didn't even know there was Necro Armor until I looked it up.
Then, even if you do get everything, what do you do when you're done? What comes after getting all the best shit? Nothing. There's nothing to keep you playing. Building stuff isn't worth the time and it's not very fun, and PVP is just... why. Why is there even PVP I mean that doesn't sound like the best addition ever.

B. Minecraft's "top-tier" is ridiculous. Mining gets old after a while, and finding diamonds is basically luck at a certain level. There's no bosses or even higher-tier monsters guarding diamond gear, it's just the same fucking monsters that you will have learned to deal with by now.
Except the top-tier gives you a specific advantage that almost immediately brings up a lot of options.
You can now create just about everything. You've mastered your world, and you can shape it as you see fit. You won't run out of space because it constantly generates (another thing Terraria lacks) and there's never a lack of resources. Natural things, like waterfalls or deep caves or giant floating islands are never at a lack, and there's always something
new to find.
Terraria doesn't have that. It can't really continue after you get everything. Yeah, you can still play, but there's no joy to it. I haven't been playing Terraria at all because I have seven full stacks of hellstone bars and jack shit to do with it because I already have fucking everything.
Terraria is the better game if judged on how much shit there is to do, but Minecraft wins out on longevity.
