That'd be me. My dad is an IT, so we have about 12 computers in the house. I have broadband, so lag on the east half of the country should be daisies near impossible. I'm going to limit the number of users to a smaller than default number, as I don't want to use the whole house's bandwith. Maybe 10?

Sounds gooood. But like I said, the lag is on Notch's side, so you might want to wait until he fixes it.

What do you plan on doing with the server? Will it be true survival, or just a what ever you want? I tried making mine into a survival with currency, BUT LAAAAG.

I'm planning on keeping it survival, but not sure about specifics. Maybe land claims and trade?

Yeah that's what we tried to set up, but it's kinda hard, I found some plugins you can use for land protection and stuff. but I had no idea how to use it since I'm not that good with this kind of stuff, I'll show you.

Hmod, it removes that thing and makes you do more techy stuff with that what not.

I dunno if we'd need the second plugin, I don't think anyone on AZ would ever greif somebody elses work. You could just have a whitelist to sort that problem out, right?

Plus maybe you could have a like, beginner starter kit? On some servers you get free stone tools once, just like people may start to run out of trees near the starting area or something, and some people may want to just build giant sculpteres (dunno if thats the correct spelling) but idk it's your choice.

If you don't want to do that then I suggest using this instead.

http://www.mcadmin.eu/Main_Page

It's like the normal server thing, but makes it easier, and you can make kits, just like you said, for starting off, I made one like that, I think I still have it.

It was

Iron shovel, Iron pickaxe, Iron hoe, torches, wood, dirt, ext.

You make the kit and ingame you type !kit <name of kit, I named it azkit> <player name>

and it would give them the items you made in the kit.

But yeah, I don't think AZ server would grief. But you never know. Never knew how the whitelist worked.

I may do a starter pack and leave it stock otherwise.

Another idea was using The Nethers glass like block dust thingies as currency, since you can't go into the Nether yet, no player can obtain them, making them a good currency. Unless they make them into block, but that's their problem.

Trading things like Gold bars and stuff for currency, which can be used to buy tools and stuff from the admin, see what I'm saying?

That's... actually a good idea. May do that.

ALSO:

My first real Minecraft house. The little light on the mountain is a hideout if I get stuck up there at night.

My second house, due to a chest filled with stone. I connected the two buildings using a minecart system under the water.

How's the multiplayer server coming? Any idea if Notch fixed the lag issue?

type your local IP into the IP slot. Other players will use your public IP to do the same.
