smurf account is an alternate account a higher level player has made to play at newbie levels to pubstomp, dick around with random champs, play with newbie friends, etc.

getting called a smurf when you're not is a bit of a compliment, I suppose

Myk, if you want information about any of the champs, feel free to ask. I can't give you a chance to play them, but I know quite a lot about the game. Stuff like who to watch out for and what items are the most important for a given style.

Kayle, Zilean, or Janna? I want to try out a decent support, but am not sure which to chose. I'm leaning towards Zilean because he is terribly obnoxious, and he has that groovy skin of his.

Janna wins games. Her shield is actually a lot better at saving people than any champion's heal, and all of her abilities stay useful throughout the game, regardless of how you build her. As long as you're alive, you're going to be pissing the enemy off constantly. Her ultimate is a popular anti-AoE tool as well. Take Cleanse and wait for one of the many popular champions with AoE ultimates to jump into the midst of your team, wipe off any stuns that may go along with the ultimate, and watch as everyone gets knocked safely away from you and your teammates.

Zilean has his bombs for early game, but his only support abilities are a very short-lived movement speed buff and his ultimate, which is more often than not used to save Zilean himself in the first place. Even with maxed cooldown reduction and constant spam on his Rewind ability, he's not likely to save more than one person per fight. If you get fed, the bombs can be pretty ridiculous, but more often than not, you'll have to make the decision between having no damage output, or being so vulnerable that you'll be the first target of the entire enemy team and die before you can do anything significant.

As for Kayle... she's good, but I wouldn't consider her full support. She's more like damage/support hybrid. Good for keeping your team at full health between fights, but the ultimate is so short lived now that it's only useful for avoiding burst damage, and not all that likely to protect anyone long enough to make the difference between them living or dying.
