Do skins show in multiplayer mode?

I've decided I'm gonna make a 24/7 (ish) alpha server.
I know how to run it, and I have a box PC that's serving no purpose. I'm going to strip the computer's system down to bare bones and run the server from there. I'll be playing from a laptop to allow for freed up ram on the server unit. If all goes well it should be up by next week.

So... yeah the forums wouldn't load for me and I didn't see who wanted to try the server.

Anyways, if that person I'm unable to quote for mysterious reasons wants to run the server than that would be awesome if he could have a dedicated one and not destroy my computer. Might want to wait until he fixes the lag problem though.

That'd be me. My dad is an IT, so we have about 12 computers in the house. I have broadband, so lag on the east half of the country should be daisies near impossible. I'm going to limit the number of users to a smaller than default number, as I don't want to use the whole house's bandwith. Maybe 10?
