Now this is a story all about how
My dungeon got flipped turned upside down

Edit: Got the last couple things I needed and beat the game. Anju and Kafei's sidequest is so bittersweet. Also I beat the final boss with the Fierce Deity's Mask, so I'm gonna try to beat it the legit way later. That's such a great reward for getting all the masks, though. Just getting to beat the shit out of the last boss with no effort.

Especially if you use Chateau Romani. The laser-beams make Majora a JOKE.

Very much so. Unfortunately, I screwed up halfway through doing the quest a second time, and ended up rage-quitting. The 3DS version's Song of Double Time probably makes it much better though.

How did you people even LIVE with the N64 Song of Double Time?

I used that time to peruse the strategy guide to make sure I was waiting for the right times.

Because fuck remembering all that time shit or trying to look for it in the notebook with that slow booty menu.

I've done it with an actual notebook. Now it's up to my memory

Emulator.
I just turn off 'Limit FPS' and the game runs 3x normal speed. When it gets close to the time I need, I turn 'Limit FPS' back on.

Back in MY DAY kids had a BIT more PATIENCE

Back when I was a kid I had much more time for video games.
And more patience too.

Back when I was a kid my parents wouldn't allow me a console because they knew I'd never go outside again. So now I get to enjoy it all anyway.

A Link Between Worlds is an interesting game. I wouldn't say it's the best Zelda game in the series, but it has a lot of cool and unique ideas. Also the wall merging mechanic is great and there is a shit ton to do everywhere.

I would have REALLY liked ALBW more if it had, you know, a new world. And not just the ALTTP world copied over with minor changes.

As it is, I can't even say I like it. It feels like I wasted my time entirely. The dungeons are too easy to be a main draw, the overworld leaves nothing for me to feel like I'm finding new things, even with the honestly pretty cool painting mechanic, and the combat is by it's very nature not complex. So like what the fuck am I supposed to care about here? The item system? I guess that's cool.

If I wanted to play a game with an interesting mechanic marred by easy dungeons, constant copying of an earlier game, and an overworld I can't give a shit about, I'd just play Twilight Princess again.

Woah now, don't go torturing yourself with TP. At least ALBW only lasts a few really good hours. TP's got bullshit for days that you have to do in a boring and weird version of Hyrule (seriously though why is Hyrule on a bunch of fucking cliffs?). Only really fun thing after the Water Temple is the Yeti's House dungeon. Fuck Arbiter's Grounds and The City in the Sky.

Yeah TP was really meh to me, I disliked a lot about it. A bunch of folk want it to be remade for the Wii U tho.

Hey, even if Twilight Princess copied its overworld from Ocarina of Time, it at least expanded upon it and made changes. There's no way you could ever confuse Twilight Princess's version of Kakariko Village with Ocarina of Time's version. Plus, it actually added a few new areas to Hyrule, like Ordona Province and Snowpeak. ALBW, on the other hand, just copied ALttP's overworld without making any effort to even make it look different, aside from putting a bunch of fissures in the ground and covering Death Mountain with snow. At least Twilight Princess's overworld had plenty of space for me to explore, unlike ALBW, in which the overworld was so tiny it could be crossed in under a minute. Twilight Princess actually had some likable, sympathetic, and interesting characters, unlike ALBW, which had a bunch of uninteresting, undeveloped sages, a boring, backstabbing princess, and a greedy little coward who kept Link in the dark for no reason. Twilight Princess, while still very weak compared to other games in the series, made it abundantly clear that its creators cared about what they made and tried to make it a great game, even though they may have failed. A Link Between Worlds had no soul.
