Also shops in Imperial City tend to have large signs hanging above the doors. They give an idea what they're selling.

So would you vote for Oblivion on PS3

over Mass Effect Trilogy?

Because those are the two games I want to play next and my cheddar can't afford both.

Try not to play any Elder Scrolls on consoles, if only just because the PC versions have modding capabilities. Not to mention console commands can fix most glitches, even the gamebreaking ones.

I figured that was the case.

My current computer is "the family laptop" that is pretty old. I just got my own laptop but I'm not sure how good it would be for gaming. I've never really done any PC gaming before so I'm not really sure where to start.

Not that I even have the cheddar to buy it yet anyway...

It's possible to tweak and mod it so it's less performance intensive. My old computer from 2006-ish could run it fine. The important thing to remember about the elder scrolls is that gamebryo is a terrible engine that doesn't really run great on any system.

I look at my 3 maxed out characters with over 200 hours played on each on my 360 and all I can do is raise my eyebrow in query at all of this talk of "try to avoid it on a console" and "it's only playable on PC."

Up next, I get a life.

Man Oblivion is so fun.
Too bad every body seems to have falln out of the ugly tree, hit every branch on the way down, and then climbed back up for seconds.

Skyrim is totally playable on PS3.

The problem is that it can only have 4 save files + 3 autosaves.

And no one tells you this until you've already lost your 30 hour save.

But since Oblivion is worse about mechanics (not just bugs, but the physical level-up scaling that is notorious), I would rather play it on a platform that lets me mitigate those problems.

I like to think that fast travling is your character just lifting off into the air and flying to wherever the hell you needed to go, which is why you can't do it indoors.

You only have four characters.

Or in my case, one character with three saves and another with just one.

Oblivion is so great I really love the millions of spells in the game, even if I don't use a lot of them they are all still fucking amazing.
