Have you tried turning battle animations off in the options menu? It's not something I do, but I gather it makes the battles pass a little faster.

I'd like to be able to play battles without the use of the stylus (just using the A button like on the GBA games), but yeah, it takes forever to select, then confirm that you want to fight, select, then confirm what move you want to use, then watch the battle animation.

I don't see why using the A button has been made so much slower than using the stylus. I could input commands so gorram fast on my GBA games (the pop-up menus were nuttin but a blur man! A BLUR!)

Oh thank god I'm not the only one who realizes this slowdom
You know how every Pokemon battle begins with that "camera pan" effect where the Pokemon moves right across the top of the screen to reach its spot in the upper-right corner? Well, if go back and replay games prior to Diamond and Pearl, you'll notice that the Pokemon moves WAY slower than it does in Diamond and Pearl.

I'm not suggesting that the speeding up and the slowing down even each other out, because then you probably wouldn't notice the slowing down. But the speeding up should be considered, and also this is a ridiculous thing to get mad over.

Probably want to run those through a translator. But the main idea is Pokemon: Heart Gold and Pokemon: Soul Silver releases in Japan in the Fall.

I wonder if Heart Gold and Soul Silver will be the official Euro/American names.

Ooh! I wonder if there'll be extra islands to check out like in FR/LG?

I hope so. And, I definately hope so.

I also hope Cinnabar doesn't get nuked by that non-existant volcano again. Seriously though, the only time there's actually been a volcano on Cinnabar was in the anime. The nearest ingame is Mt Ember on Knot Island. Which is miles away.

I also hope that the Safari Warden doesn't decide to take a lifelong holiday, that the Kanto Forestry Organisation doesn't decide to lop down Viridian Forest, that the fuzz don't decide to shut the underground tunnels, that Victory Road isn't still under trainer-free quarantine, that the E4 champ doesn't use an impossible Dragonite, and that ingame levels stretch above Lv50 (Trainer Red aside). Yeah, as much as I loved GSC, they made a bit of a hash of Kanto when they tried to squeeze it as extra into a GB cart's tiny memory. I want the remake to be faithful to the originals, but it doesn't have to be that faithful, right?

DS.

I think 'Heart Gold' refers to that saying about a kind person having a 'heart of gold'.

Soul Silver is born of the word association with heart (heart and soul, body and mind).

I'm not too worried about being able to revisit Kanto again - it wouldn't be a bad thing but I'd rather see some fresh, unexplored islands.

I can't remember much of the original G/S/C storyline or map layout so I'm looking forward to playing these again - it'll be almost like playing a new game for me!

I remember that some of the things, such as the Safari Zone, were actually cut out of GSC because of fatal glitches which still hadn't been fixed from R/B/G/Y.
I know the Safari Zone had to do with Glitch City. They even took the door off to make sure it was impossible to get in (although I think the latter is just a rumor because I'm sure that if there was a Safari Zone in G/S/C, hackers would still access it without a door.)
Destroyed Cinnabar is probably going to stay because that's where you first meet Green (or Blue in America. I hope they change his name back to Green).

I remember I saw some beta screenshots of old G/S maybe I'll find and post them. They're pretty fun to look at if you remember the original game.

QFT.

And if they manage to put in Cyrstal-caliber Cockfighting Society animations then I will be so pop flyin' with the new G/S that I will buy two copies of both versions.

AWESOOOOOME!

Do... do you even need to ask that question?! Why in god's name would they release a major game only on a handheld so obsolete that they didn't even include backwards compatibility for it in their newest handheld?

They are not going to remove entire major timeline points so that it can be more true to R/B/Y!

Spent all my cash on L4D and SR2, I'll have a snowflake's chance in hell of getting these.

Here comes the poor mobile.

What is it with people and warped senses of time today? Or are you implying that you have no way of ever getting cheddar in the next year or three?

If you want all that stuff, why don't you try playing Blue? Or Red. Or Yellow, or Fire Red or Leaf Green. I enjoyed the alterations made to G/S/C. I like how the geography of Kanto changed, but stayed the same.

Also, volcanoes are an important part of Cinnibar Island. Just because they couldn't squeeze one on the tiny screen doesn't mean there isn't one.

Well, I guess that's it. You're unemployed forever. No more video games for the rest of your life.

I got to see the new movie: Giratina and the Sky Warrior today at the magic picture box. I have to say, the two first movies were the best.

You're joking! The first movie was the worst, by far!
