I enjoyed Twilight Princess. It wasn't the best Zelda game ever, but I liked it.

Yeah, it was decent. Had a lot of holes and a lot of wasted potential, but it had some great characters. I still say Midna is the best character in the series. Some of the other games in the last ten years have had their good points too; Minish Cap had Ezlo, Phantom Hourglass had Linebeck, and Spirit Tracks and (to a much lesser extent) Skyward Sword actually put Zelda in more active roles in their stories.

Remember also that Wind Waker was given a deadline, and they were forced to keep to it pretty strictly. The result was the removal of an entire dungeon (Jabun's belly) and two more "dungeons" that were stripped down to basically nothing (Fire Island and Ice Ring Island) in order to make the deadline.

The developers have gone on record to say that they all learned from that, and that (at least for Zelda games) they would never apply a deadline to themselves like that again.

Honestly, the only part that bothers me is them saying they won't be showing the game at all at E3 this year. While there's definitely time to change their mind on that (I'm betting they will), it's weird to me that we've known about the game for so long and not yet been given a logo, title, or single piece of concept art. They put out that picture of Phi and Link almost a year ahead of Skyward Sword; it feels odd to be bereft of anything concrete now.

Well, we have a bit of gameplay, but I'm still annoyed that they haven't said anything at all regarding the story or the world or anything.

Finally got around to finishing Majora's Mask. I can see why people like it so much, but personally I think Ocarina of Time was the better one. MM feels a bit too much like side quest: the game. Also it seems to me like it has a lot of gimmicks you only use once or twice.

Yeah, Majora's Mask has its problems. I do think Ocarina of Time is probably the better game, mostly due to how good a job Ocarina of Time does of developing its world and setting up things for future Zelda games. Still, I prefer Majora's Mask for a lot of reasons, mostly because of its atmosphere and characters.

They did manage to put in quite a bit of Terminian lore throughout the course of the story. Compared to most other Zeldas, Majora's Mask had a lot of culture to the world.

Goron's were still dumb rock eaters, but they had a lot more fun Snowhead than on Death Mountain, crafting grand explosives and having races.

The Indigo-Go's showed our favorite fish folk as quite musically talented people.

And then there was the Deku Palace.

I forgot what I was going to say for that, but the BGM... One of the best things.

I didn't say that Majora's Mask did a bad job of developing its world; I actually think it did a fantastic job. It's just that I feel Ocarina of Time did a better job. For instance, Ocarina introduced six new races (Kokiri, Gorons, Zoras, Gerudo, Deku, and Sheikah). Four of them got a ton of development into their customs, political systems, spiritual beliefs, etc., and even though the other two didn't get much of any development, that still seemed to work out well. The Deku had a very minor role and didn't really get any real development until Majora's Mask, and it makes sense that we wouldn't learn much about the Sheikah since they were supposed to be very mysterious and shady. Like I said, Majora's Mask still did a very good job of developing its world, it just didn't do quite as good a job as Ocarina of Time.

There've been some pretty impressive fake info leaks recently, so my hopes for this are not high, but...

If this is real, all of my excite.

Yeah, it's fake, and it managed to screw over several hundred gullible people.

Is anyone else here sick of remakes, ports, and rehashes of Zelda games? Yeah, I liked some of the recent remakes too, but we've gotten enough.

I got Majora's Mask 3D yesterday. The only time I've played MM before was when I got to play the demo in stores waaaaay back when it came out for N64. I got stuck in Clock Town and had no idea what to do, haha.

Anyways, I keep hearing that this is the best Zelda game of all time and I don't quite see it.....yet. I just got my Ocarina back and reversed time for the first, uhh, time. So far the controls feel a little weird to me. I don't remember this being an issue in OoT, but the only real way to center the camera is to L-Target, and since that changes the way Link moves, it feels really strange and a little cumbersome. Also the basic sword swing feels a bit awkward. And I apologize if I sound too much like Egoraptor, but jesus there is a lot of goddamn waiting in this game, at least in the intro.

"The stray Fairy only shows up during the day!" Oh boy, better wait another three hours for morning when I can't do anything in town!

"The door the the clock tower only opens at midnight on the eve of the carnival!" Gee great, better wait AN ENTIRE DAY with NOTHING TO DO.

That last one is actually forgivable, since it's there to show you that the moon is a huge deal, and hot daisies it's effective. That thing is terrifying. The atmosphere in MM is really great, on a positive note. Even the pop flyin' tunes in this game have a bit of lingering fear in them, I've noticed. This game is just fucking unsettling.

So I'd say I'm enjoying the game, and while I'm not sure why it's considered one of the best at the moment, I'm aware that I probably haven't gotten to the good part.

Just to clear something up for you, the stray fairy changes locations every twelve in-game hours. It'll be in one spot during the day and another spot during the night. Much of the game revolves around schedule pattern finding.

Wait, really? Huh. One of the Bomber kids told me to look in East Clock Town and then I got there and another one told me it only showed up there during the day.
