The shopkeeper there is just great though. And the dumb song in the background.

And the magic armor was actually useful for one thing: Since the game didn't let you pick up rupees from chests if your wallet was full, you could put on the armor and drain some cheddar to clear the chest. Useful in dungeons where you don't want to leave any unopened chests on the map.

I never thought of doing that WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!?!
The only time I used the Magic Armor was at the end of the Cave of Ordeals.
"THREE DARKNUTS?!?! This better be the last floor  "
Beat it on mah first try. Bodaciously crawled out of there with 1/2 heart left.

I ended up never getting the magic armor, just because I never bothered to donate when I could, and then I just end up having tons of Rupees that I had to leave in dungeons.
Also Temple of Time and Arbiter's Grounds are really fun because the useless Spinner Thingy and equally useless Statue Smashy Rod.

Lyn mode. Oh yes more bandits the plot is advancing rapidly.

it's bodaciously how you play a ton of other 3DS games, this just uses the circle pad a lot more.

did you miss the part where I said I use the stylus and the circle pad BOTH with my left hand
Uprising requires you to use both things simultaneously.

ddddon't do that?

i mean that's not exactly the game's problem? the lack of left handed controls are an issue but that's like trying to hold an xbox controller sideways

How is me being unable to play a game because of the lack of left-handed controls 'not the game's problem'?

holding a stylus in the same hand you're using to move around is just bodaciously the wrong way to hold the console normally, it's not the game's fault you're doing that.

if you were holding it in a way that made sense, and had issues from that because it worked against your handedness, that'd be a problem on the game's end.

but that specific problem of you holding the thing wrong is kind of your fault.

So it's my fault that I am left-handed and therefore hold the stylus, which is like a writing instrument, in my left hand because holding it with my right hand is incredibly uncomfortable. Holding it in my dominant hand 'doesn't make sense' and makes any issues I have with playing a game my fault?

Wouldn't it just be simpler to say nintendo fucked up and should have included a second analogue stick in the first 3ds. It's not MY fault they only made the console and the controls with right-handed people in mind.

yes it's your fault that you hold a stylus and try to use the circle pad in the same hand

that is your action

you are doing that

like i have said repeatedly now, the lack of left-handed control schemes is nintendo's fault. that's them. they fucked up.

but you holding a console in a way that is bodaciously asking to have issues with basically any game is not their fault and saying it is would be like complaining the ps3 controller is badly designed while you try and use the face buttons with your pinky.

Right yes well let me just flip my switch over to right-handed mode so that it actually becomes possible to comfortably use the stylus in my right hand and everything will be hunky-dory.

It may be hard to grasp for a right handed person, but using the stylus with our right hand is hard to impossible depending on what the game wants you to do with it.

first off, i dunno like, if maybe it's because i'm weird or whatever, but it seems strange that it'd be that hard, because i can do shit with my left hand. it's not particularly comfortable, but i've done shit like play EBA with it.

second off, that doesn't make holding the thing wrong make it the game's fault.

like i said, like six times now, holding a thing WRONG and then complaining about issues that arise from that is your fault, regardless of the quality of holding the thing right. that's it. it's that simple. if you have a problem playing the game in the way it was intended, great, that's the game's fault. if you're having trouble playing the game because you're doing shit that wouldn't work for anything, that's your fault.

We're forced to play the game wrong because we can't fucking play it "right"

dohohoho SEE WHAT I DID THERE

when the game system FORCES YOU to play in a way that makes you uncomfortable, that is the game's fucking fault. Do you remember Brain Age Academy for the old DS? That game had a left handed option. Because it knew that lefties existed.

How did the 3ds, and all its games, go through the dev process without someone pointing out "Hey this is really hard for left handed people to use, maybe we should fix that".

What cori said. We can't play it the "right" way because our brains don't let us, we can't play it the "wrong" way because the game won't let us properly. One of those would have been preventable.

But, well. Let's talk Zelda. Majora's Mask is fun. I never had the N64 one. I usually keep the stylus in my mouth and take it out when I have to do something on the touchscreen. Or I just use my thumb.

There's people who are equally good with both hands; others are good with one hand and can get things done with the other; then there's people who are good with one hand but can hardly do anything with the other. When I use a pen with my left hand, I got terrible precision and am super slow, which obviously isn't good for many games.

I got my horsie back today. Looks like I should prefer for killing some aliens. The
alarm option for the notebook seems neat, that way you can run around and do whatever else without having to worry to miss the right time.

And there's me, clumsy with both.
