While we're on the subject, why are FPSes always either broken up in mission format, or confined in small spaces? Are there any open world FPSes?

Fallout 3 in a pinch. There's also STALKER: Clear Sky and the upcoming RAGE.

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl as well. There's also supposed to be a third one coming out soon.

I love the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series so much. SoC is definitely the perfect game, with Oblivion Lost and Arsenal mod installed.

My idea of a perfect game would probably only be such to a small group of gamers due to the number of cutscenes, exposition, and general cinematic style it would involve. I know it's a reason why a lot of people dislike Xenosaga, MGS4 and games like them, but it's one of the reasons I love both games and the series they come from. It'd be very story-heavy, have like 10 playable main characters, a crapton of different endings (endings that are ACTUALLY different. Irritates me when multiple endings is a selling point and most of them are the same one but with one person missing or a few lines added), dialogue choices that affected the direction of the story, and NO "but thou must!" dialogue choices (I hate that BS). As much of an RPG addict I am, I probably wouldn't make it an RPG, at least not an older type. An action game with some FPS and RPG elements to it. Definitely science fiction, though probably not a mecha game (probably something where you take some down, tho). A blatantly unrealistic setting, allowing you to do absolutely unpossible (but most righteous) gun-fu, destroy a 30m-tall mech with a single sword, etc. The types of abilities you gain would depend on how you played. Someone who blocks a lot and plays defensively would learn some badass powerful counter abilities. Someone who tends to kill quietly when possible would get abilities making them harder to detect. Very basic examples, but you get the idea. There would be no love story at all unless the player made the choices to explore that possibility. EVERY female playable character would be dressed from head to toe in practical, believable clothing (believable for the setting, anyway). I really cannot stress how much I love that last one whenever (and very rarely) game implements it. Lastly, and most certainly not least, it would have a competent voice cast.

I can dream. I can dream.

Also Far Cry 1 and 2, an I heard the same for Crysis.

I'd like a Zelda-style long-winded adventure game, but maybe not so medieval. With guns. Something in which you can walk around a huge, complex map.

Left 4 Dead. On steroids. And instead of having to sit around with a respawn timer when you're dead as infected, you take control of a common! MWAHAHAHA!

Oddly enough, I think someone did this. A FPS and RTS combo, like C&C Renegade did in a way. There would be a number of infantry slotted to FPS mode, and one RTS commander for each side as the host. The commander builds stuff and controls vehicles, but can allow players to use them if needed.

I read about that game in a magazine. It's made by the same people who are working on Heroes of Newerth right now. It's called Savage 2. Very fun game.

I like Point-and-Clicks.

Yeah, but those games suck. Like, really, really hard.

It is fun! Actually, Savage 1 is free to download from their website! If you don't want to spend cheddar on a new game just from a Myk-recommendation, download it and I'll give you a game sometime.

I may be weird for even thinking about the Shin Megami Tensei series as anywhere near "perfect",but…
Yeah, like that, but not quite as annoying and long. And maybe a bit of that weird-booty "go talk to everybody and solve the mystery" type of plot/gameplay from Lux-Pain.

Either that,or TWEWY without anorexic people.

this concept is impossible as there is no single game that every single person on earth loves.

you can get close but you can never achieve it.

Thats not even what I'm asking. I'm asking you. What your perfect game would be. If it was custom made for you.

You.

Wait, really? You made this entire thread just to ask what Hitman's favourite game alone is? What about the rest of us?
