No, not really. Also, I'm sure you had to beat that level. It was a Bowser level, if I remember right. If it isn't, I don't really care.

"Just skip it" isn't really an excuse for bad game design.

Not to sound offensive, but what you just said sounds all too much like a learned-off stock phrase.
Firstly, the 3D Mario games have a system whereby if a level is causing too many problems for you, you don't play it, but you pass up a few chances at stars (you can't play the other levels (up to five) leading off from it). You only need to beat 60 levels if you're not going for 100% completion.
Secondly, the MechaBowser level is a relatively average level in terms of difficulty; no-one that's adequate at platformers would blame the level for being too difficult.
Thirdly, being difficult in itself is not always an attribute of bad game design: case in point, MegaMan.

Edit: wait, sorry I thought you were talking about the MechaBowser level (in the later half of the game). You mean you're stuck on a boss level.
But the only boss level with a robot is... the first?

What?!

You're scaling a giant robot. I don't know. It was ages ago since I played it.

olo Dark is bad at Mario games let's all be a dick about it and draw attention in a seemingly innocent way.

Anyway, I didn't realize that this thread was still alive. To address some things from pages ago:

To PirateDude: the M&L games started out with you having to control both Mario and Luigi using the A and B buttons. In the next game, you have to control both Mario and Luigi, meanwhile keeping track of Baby Mario and Luigi. In this new game, you'll have to use Mario and Luigi to control Bowser. The concepts behind the later two games are rather intimidating. I'm sure they work fine in execution, but I just never really bothered.

To Zink: I honestly think Nintendo doesn't give a shit about "taking a step backwards". The series doesn't make any sense, so they can do whatever they want.

Yeah, there's abso-goddamn-lutely no need for a new 2d Mario game. Wanna know why? Because you could make the entire game on LittleBigPlanet in a week, and save yourself $60. What the hell is wrong with everyone that they seem to be forgetting that?
Lolololo your clevar. Why buy any games at all? Make them in LittleBigPlanet, you faggot. Hope you remembered to make some brain cells, at least enough to notice that you don't have any game development degrees. People get payed to make games because they do a good job. You (read: LittleBigPlanet users) don't have any game making skills. Hence why you play LittleBigPlanet. Otherwise, you'd probably have more fun coding your own dayum games from scratch.
What an interesting thing to hear from someone who's obviously never tried any of LittleBigplanets better levels.

I'm sorry, I don't remember there being a rule here that I'm not allowed to hold an opinion that clashes with yours. Please give me all of your future opinions so that I can make sure I never hold a different one to you, who are obviously the elected king of the internet.

Oh. Sorry. I just personally feel it looks kind of lazy. When one of Nintendo's big announcements is going to a genre that has already practically been opened to the public, it just sounds like they're not trying very hard with that one. Its like if a major publisher tried to bring out a text based adventure, or if that Monkey Island downloadable game had been announced as a full priced disc based release, or if Final Fantasy went back to all its characters looking like Popeye with no facial features.

That's seriously your argument? If I need to actively serach for good levels, why even bother? In any case, there's limitations in Little Big Planet. I haven't messed around with the level creator, but if it works, then it has rules, and if it has rules, then it is constricted by them. There will be some things that you just can't do.

So you just walk into any random store point at something blindly and then purchase it? Hows that working outfor you?

And for that matter, how on earth are you communicating with me? According to you, it would be too much effort to know what keys you're hitting, so why even bother coming up qwith any form of sense in your meaning?

And a lot of thoughts are bad, so why bother thinking at all?

The rules in LittlewBigPlanet is effectively a thermometer of content. Buteven that can be worked around by just making a sequential level.

Me or him? I'm just mocking him, which is both easy and satisfying.
