The 'new' moon actually looks kinda like how I remembered the moon to look in Super Smash Bros Melee, in the great bay stage. Also the texture on it actually looks kinda like it's more low-res than the 64 version--or is that just me?

Oh shit.

This actually looked pretty good until 49 seconds in. Remember how amazing it felt in the original when you swam as Zora Link? How the controls were so fluid and swimming was so fast and fun? Yeah, fuck that, looks like they're bringing back the sluggish type of swimming used in Twilight Princess. It's possible that there are just different speeds at which Zora Link can swim, but there's still no reason for this to be here. On top of that, why does Gyorg have an eye in its mouth? There's no reason for that; it's not like it's pointing out a weak spot, since Gyorg doesn't have a specific weak point. Also, why is the room that solid shade of light blue? I recall it originally being dark, eerie, and filled with psychedelic multicolored lights that fit the surreal, trippy atmosphere of the game. It made the room feel ominous and threatening, as a boss's lair should be. Making it all light blue throws that out the window and almost makes it feel comforting.

There are plenty of problems they could actually address in this remake (I'm looking at you, shitty save system), but they're trying to fix what was never broken in the first place. What the fuck, Nintendo?

Bought Oracle of Ages and Link's Awakening DX on the 3DS eShop today, aww yiss. I would have bought Oracle of Seasons as well, but I'm like 30 cents short. It's OK though, I still have the original one at my parents' house.

leveling up Agitha in Hyrule Warriors is really hard when all her attacks are so weird.

I'm really enjoying the designs of the dungeons in Link's Awakening. It's been a while since a Zelda game has made me really have to think about how I'm supposed to get through a dungeon. I also like the balance between single room obstacles and the dungeon being a huge puzzle in itself. I'm in Eagle Tower right now and I'm legit lost and confused and I love it.

Love Link's Awakening DX. Think it might be the best handheld Zelda. Hell, it might be the best 2D Zelda. Fantastic dungeons, some memorable characters and designs, a wonderfully surreal tone, and the most interesting story of any 2D Zelda game (though ALttP is still okay, OoA was decent, and ST had its moments). Sure, it was buggy as hell, the graphics have aged horribly, the menu could be annoying, and the world was pretty small, but its strengths tremendously outweighed those weaknesses.

Oh, but if you like being lost and having no idea where to go next, just wait until the next dungeon. God, that was a pain...

I actually didn't have too much trouble with Turtle Rock. There was way less running around aimlessly, at least in my experience.

Also I beat the game! That final boss was....kind of underwhelming.

OK, I've started Oracle of Ages today. Let's see why everyone says this game is better than Seasons.

Because it actually has a plot, that's why. Seasons is much better if you play it second with a linked game.

I seriously spent 15-20 minutes on the puzzle in Crown Dungeon where you have to push those colored blocks into the square, but the blocks of the same color move together. After so many failed attempts, I gave up and looked up the solution online, only to be reminded that I found an item in that dungeon that MAKES BLOCKS.

I am so fucking mad right now.

I finally got around to beating Hyrule Warriors yesterday. I wish the game was a bit more clear about how to unlock characters in the gallery menu. I want to take my Ganondorf outfits out for a spin.

Oracle of Ages has been conquered. I can see why people like it more than Seasons, but I still like Seasons more, probably mostly for nostalgic reasons.

The one thing I really don't like about Ages is the Mermaid Suit.

a. Why would you change the swimming mechanics mid-game?

b. Why would you change the swimming mechanics so that you have to rapidly tap on the D-pad to move?

Yeah, the Mermaid Suit was pretty bad...though the dungeon it's found in is one of the better water levels in this series. The one after it, on the other hand, is essentially the Water Temple all over again, but somehow made even worse.

I agree that Mermaid's Cave was awesome. It might be one of my new favorite dungeons.

I actually didn't mind Jabu Jabu's Belly, though. The only time when dungeons annoy me is when I have to wander around without any sense of what I need to do next, and I didn't experience that there. I went in, figured out I couldn't push blocks underwater, and thought, "Oh, I probably need to adjust the water level". And what do you know, that's what you do.
