The radio in New Vegas was lacking, but I found the DLC radio "Mysterious Broadcast" made up for it.
Swaggin' tunes and the Dead cheddar, which is the only good thing it had going for it.

I've been using Lincolns Repeater a lot, though it's a pain to find ammo for it.
I might switch this out for the Blackhawk. This is one neato pistol.

Beat the main campaign in Fallout 3 with bodaciously no points into any gun skills at all, ending with 100 melee, 100 science, and 70+ speech and medicine. Level 13.

SO NOW THAT I'M ON THE NOTABLY SEVERAL HUNDRED TIMES HARDER DLCS I've opted to start putting skills into Energy Weapons. You know, so I'm not murdered by aliens or Enclave or other weird shit. Already finished The Pitt (fucking awful) and Broken Steel (pretty good) and I'm on Zeta. After that is Point Lookout.

So is there something special about the Fallout guy?
I mean, I'm single handedly mowing down Death claws, Albino Radcorpions, Enclave soldiers.
I've sold enough of their armor and weapons to fortify all of Megaton for goodness sakes, why is it that everybody seems really incompitent?

That's Bethesda for you, always making most other characters seem borderline retarded compared to the player character.

EDIT: Okay I think I was just taking out my anger from Mega Man 1 here, let me try and get my thoughts out better now.

In TES: Oblivion, you are bodaciously just some random person in a jail that the king has seen, yet you go on to help the new king to save the world from the God of Destruction. In Skyrim, you are the Dragonborn so you go around beating the shit out of a lot of dragons, with no aide whatsoever, not counting companions. This time you destroy a different god of destruction. In my experience, bodaciously all it took to kill him was to use Dragonrend once. You are also the only person able to read an Elder Scroll without going blind or mad, but that's probably attributed to your being Dragonborn.

In the Fallouts it's not nearly as bad (at least not FO3 and NV, haven't really played much of the first two), except for getting shot in your brain and still surviving. Doc Mitchell really is the best doctor in the wastes.

I mean, from what I understand you're just some little shit from the vault in FO3, so you should be even more shit than everybody else.
And in FONV you're a delivery boy who got shot in the head.

But in the Elder scrolls you were some sort of special hero person though weren't you?

Lets put it in a different perspective.

In FO3, you've possibly learned to use guns since a child with the BB Gun. You escape from the vault by beating everyone in your way to death. After that, it's non-stop combat because you never really settle down. You're hardly ever safe, and if you're a good guy, you're never safe anywhere because there are mercs hunting you down.
Being good at fighting in that scenario is the logical conclusion. You're constantly in the thick, so you naturally get really good at what you do really quick. Nobody else is in the same shit you are. Not even the Brotherhood, because they get downtime. They have somewhere to go. You're always moving and fighting and surviving.

In NV there's the bit where you've already lived out in the wasteland, and it's assumed that you're sort of already a complete badass, due to walking into Deathclaw territory with nothing but a pistol and some misc shit. Not to mention you got shot in the head and it didn't kill you. After that, same reasons as 3. You've got no other choice.

So yeah I mean there are reasons as to why you're a hundred times better than everyone.

Actually, word from the developers is that the Courier wasn't aware of the Deathclaw infestation on I-15. So the guy who ambushed you and shot you in the head probably saved your life.

When did this happen?? I don't remember it saying it in the game, unless it's past the point I'm at in Lonesome Road.

You were ambushed north of Goodsprings heading towards the Strip. If the Courier kept that path, he would have run afoul of the Deathclaw nests that separate Goodsprings and the Strip. Someone had a theory that the two bullets to the face ruined the Courier's former badassery and that he would have been fine, but like I said, the developers said he didn't know what he was walking into.
