It was released on N64.
Then on Gamecube.
Then Wii.

Obviously a DS system was going to get it.

I'm waiting for the Virtual Boy release. How dare the VB get shafted on a port.

EDIT:

It's been on the Virtual Console since 2007 for 1000 Wii/Nintendo Points. There was even a 10 minute (I think) demo on Brawl to showcase the VC version. :/

Not sure about the Wii version, but worth noting is the fact that the GC version was a direct port. The 3DS edition actually looks like a remake to me.

Wii was also a direct port - the Virtual Console is all old games rereleased to be downloaded for a price to the Wii system. No changes, aside from controls.

No, I recall an article in Nintendo Power where they compared original releases with VC versions. No huge differences, but they did make the colors more vibrant/improve textures.

I doubt that. The Virtual Console games are basically being emulated. I performed a quick Google search and didn't find anything about it anyway.

I'll see if I can't find the article to scan in, it was definitely there.
I distinctly remember a comparison shot of Starfox 64, the most notable difference was that the after burners were brighter.

It may have something to do with the N64 not displaying everything properly and the VC version displaying things properly. I remember that, for example, the textures and models for the stages in MvC2 were of better quality than what the Dreamcast could actually display (it shows in the XBLA/PSN versions).

That might be it, although I do think the after burner flare was distinctly larger in one of the versions. Wikipedia is saying that Nintendo stated there were no differences, though, and I can't find the article; guess I'll just have to let this one go.

Apparently my DS likes to convert to streetpass-only mode while I'm playing games, and won't use the internet. Is there some reason for this, or is my DS being stupid?

I figured this out because adding friends doesn't work while I'm playing OoT.

Nope, you have to add each other to know anything about the other person.

On that topic, I CAN SEE YOU MAKING MIIS, AME. YOU CAN NOT HIDE ANY 3DS-RELATED THING FROM ME NOW.
