Now this is a thread for me.

I've been sucked hard into the Amiibo game. I've done all the pre-orders, did the store to store hunting in December, managed to wake up in time for the second wave of Rosalina pre-orders (which felt godlike), and the only figure I still don't have from Waves 1-3 is Dedede (one of my favorites, sadly). I'm currently fretting over Greninja and Jigglypuff because they're the only ones I do not have, AND I need to get 2 of each so my niece can have a set since she's big into Pokemon, and old enough to realize what it means if she has them and I don't (she was upset with me getting her a Pikachu when I didn't have one for Christmas and offered to buy me one at the store later, when I had actually just left it home). It also doesn't help that Jiggly and Greninja were bodaciously a part of her X team, and she'd be absolutely thrilled with them.

Still really salty with Nintendo for making the Pokemon figures exclusives out of anything. I was okay with Lucario mainly because it was... decently easy for me to get one (and eventually a second one through trading), and I figured "this will be the only exclusive Pokemon". Even if Jiggly was exclusive I would have been fine, but two goddamn Pokemon in the same wave being exclusives? Ugh.

I've had good luck though and I have good friends looking out for me. I'm nabbing some Amiibo while I'm in Japan (like 2 Ganondorfs for a friend), might be able to nab Jiggy and Greninja, but not holding my breath since I'm flying in the 29th. Won't be going to a store until the 30th and I have no idea how bad stock and exporting market will be in relation to our market over there.

Probably going to try to get a friend or two to camp out at Target for a couple of Jigglys and a Silver Mario. I'm decently interested in a second Marth if possible because my neice also thought he was cute when I showed her it, but... we'll see.

Also, had so much bullshit with Metaknight that I don't even want to go to another Best Buy, and the only pre-order that's been held up at Gamestop is Dedede and I'm worried I'm not going to have anyone to pick him up for me this summer if he comes in during July.

I don't think I'm as stressed as other people are about him (fuck r/amiibo most of the time, TBH) but I definitely have been feeling a bit more stress since about April. Really hoping things get better from here.

Also I've been doing some customs on the side to try to make cheddar for my college's gaming club, and I really like doing it. If only I had the time to really devote to a bunch of figures at once.

There's a bunch of meta knights down here in Australia. I think they started doing Wave 1 reprints or something too, because I swear I've seen every Wave 1 amiibo except VIllager and Wii Fit Trainer over the past week or so.

Metaknight is getting reprinted here in the US, and TRU has confirmed a shipment of Marth on the 29th

I have a best buy buddy that might be willing to nab me a Meta Knight when they arrive and a Fox he's had, both for MSRP, he's unsure if he'll get Meta tho.

The other day I was trying to show my Kirby amiibo that he has super armor during his Giant Hammer custom by walking up to him and then pretty much OHKOing him with it. He leveled up and I thought "Agh, FINALLY, an amiibo that I can use in horde battles!".
NOPE.
Now whenever I start charging my Giant Hammer he runs away like a scared little kid. I'm now tempted to slap some super-slow equipment inside his stomach so he'll be all slow-like and learn how to defend against it... or better yet how to USE it.
