Origin, as a service, honestly isn't that bad. I mean, it's not Steam, but it's actually not awful. They also just... give out games. I got Dead Space 1 and Sim City 2000 from that, so I'm pop flyin'.

My biggest complaint with it so far is that one time it made a noise for a login issue, and it was extremely loud and scared the shit out of me but honest to god that's been my only issue.

I use Origin sometimes. It's not bad. I'm hardly positive about ea, but I can't fault their service.

Honestly I don't see the recent fiasco as that devastating. I mean, I wake up one day, see valve grubbing for cheddar, see the community also grub for cheddar with $99.99 horse genitals, and the next day it's over.

Detecting sarcasm on the internet is hard, so

you do realise the second thing was a joke right? and
you do realise the community outcry caused them to backpedal? and
you do realise that without said outcry they would have happily continued lining their pockets with cash from content produced by others?

I mean, good on them for realising the whole thing was going to potentially lose them a lot more cheddar than they would gain I guess, but it doesn't change the fact that it exposed them for being the same type of revenue-focused corporation like every other corporation, which every one with half a brain already knew from the start.

You say, "they only backpedaled because of the community." I say, "they backpedaled because of the community." See, the end point here is they DID backpedal, and they WILL cave to community pressure telling them to fix something. Only a matter of time before their caving gets them in trouble somehow, but that's a problem for another day.

And of course without the outcry they'd continue. If they received no negative feedback for an action of course they'll continue doing it. That's why they have venues to voice complaints, so they can shill us the right way in the future.

Yeah, honestly... the fact that they actually LISTENED to the community is a big deal to me. How often do companies, not just gaming companies, pull some new bullshit and never change, and people just put up with it because their complaints are never heard anyway? Valve honestly could have kept the paid proletariats feature and they still would have made plenty of cheddar despite the community being unhappy about it. Instead they actually admitted that they made a mistake.

Besides, every corporation is revenue-focused, that's the point of business. It's just a question of which ones have better customer service and are generally less douchey than every other corporation.

Edit: Again, I'm not saying Valve is perfect. But overall I would say they have my cautious approval.

Konami has nuked P.T. from orbit. You are not allowed to redownload it anymore from the PS Store if you own it and had done something like delete it from your HD, etc.

What the actual fuck is wrong with them? When you think it can't get any worse, Konami continues to destroy the last shreds of reputation that it has.

Its a teaser for a game that isn't coming out, right? I guess it makes sense to delete it. It's probably not much of a game anyway.

maybe it was costing them cheddar to keep it on the store, or something? Idk it seems like it'd be just as easy to leave it as well.

Konami makes more than enough cheddar to keep a small, free game like PT up in the PS Store. Sure, it's a playable trailer for a game that doesn't exist anymore, but it's honestly one of the best new games Konami's published in years, and leaving it up would have kept them some level of good will with fans. It's their game, they're free to do what they want with it, but with idiotic move after idiotic move recently, Konami should have just left the game up.

Love the idea but advertising a competing service really comprises the entire thing and is quite hypocritical.

Nintendo looks to be teaming up with Universal Studios for some theme park stuff. In Florida and Hollywood.
I see it working like the Harry Potter section myself, with a couple rides and the whole are being designed to look from a game.

Donkey Kong Country the ride is already an awesome idea in my book.

If you squint your eyes really hard and drink alot of Tequila, the Tikis will look like Kremlings. IF they dont then youre obviously not awesome enough to ride.
