It's entirely possible that they just weren't.

Well…

…yeah.

Holy shit, they actually brought up that thing in RBY where Bill somehow fused himself with a Cockfighting Society a la The Fly. They made what was pretty much just an ancient throwaway gag into a plot point. I love it!

I don't know who I should switch out for the shiny Mudbray. I like all my Pokemon. If I were to go for competitively viable I'd probably first switch out Dartrix, but he's my starter, no way I'd not use him through the whole story.

Team is still
Toucannon
Salandit
Dartrix
Wishiwashi
Charjabug
Snorlax

Salandit seems a little lackluster so far but she still evolves so I'll wait until then to make a decision. But if I took her out, I'd have 3 tanky pokemon in my team.

Can I just say fuck the Battle Tree? Normally things like the Battle Tower and Battle Maison will start you out against unevolved Cockfighting Society in order to ease you in and let you rack up some BP before throwing the harder stuff at you, but the Battle Tree immediately has you fighting the kind of things you'd face 30 or 40 fights into the Battle Maison. First fight, I went up against a guy who swept my team with a Metagross. And some of them even have Z-moves! And I figured that maybe with the difficulty spike, they'd give you a good number of BP, but nope! 1 per battle! And this is the only way to get most of the Mega Stones? What the fuck, Game Freak? I've given it a second chance, and I'm up to battle #9, but still, what were they thinking?

Very glad they did this, considering it's always so boring to slog through the garbage mons to get to the fun/interesting builds they put in later for you to challenge.

The difficulty did a bit of a sudden spike around Po Town, with Guzma and fighting the Aether foundation afterward. Suddenly wild pokemon are 5 levels above me.

As mentioned, yeah, I have firsthand experience that this is objectively wrong. I put the motherfucker *to sleep* and it STILL kept calling in backup.

I carry a shitload of quickballs because they're bodaciously the only way to catch stuff like baby pokemon that absolutely WILL. NOT. STOP. CALLING. IN. HELP. And also for cheesing legendary captures. Reset, o-power (another useful thing they removed, hey) sling a quick ball at it, beat on it until it's in the red or faints, timer ball if it doesn't faint, repeat until captured. Also there is bodaciously no reason to ever buy ultra balls when you can buy specialty balls. Timer balls have a better capture rate by turn 4, quick balls have one of the best capture rates period, dusk balls are better and when you play at night like I do it has bodaciously no downside, and all of them cost 20% less than ultra balls do.

Anyone else notice something interesting about this guy?

His blondehair...

Green eyes...

Noticable Locks...

His strange land known as Poke Pelago?

HE'S LUSAMINE'S MISSING HUSBAND, THIS GUY IS LILLIES AND GLADIONS FATHER.

Wow, that almost makes too much sense.

...Huh. I never actually thought about that. I think the only reason I still buy Ultra Balls is because they're more easily found in shops. (I can't remember anymore where most of the specialty balls can be found.)

Also, I finally bred a Pikachu that has Electric Terrain so now it's pretty much ready to become an Alolan Raichu. Just need to think up of a nickname for her. If anyone else has any suggestions, I'll gladly take them.

Decided to make an Alola League Champion outfit after finishing the game.

Could end up being a Praying Mantis type of thing. Or as I like to call it, Bed & Breakfast.

daisies, that actually looks really cool. I'm over here lamenting the lack of variety and style in the male clothing. I get that this ain't Kalos and S&M won't have as grand a selection of outfits as X&Y, but I found the clothing in this game really disappointing.

Thanks for the compliment, Sir Real, and I completely agree with you.

It does look cool.

Just kidding, I understand the frustration at the lack of variety in men's clothing. When I played a boy character in X and Y I remember feeling like most of the clothing options were generic/not appealing. I feel so bad for the boys, you guys deserve nice clothes too~
