Popplio definitely has one of the most creative designs out of the 3, a circus seal that can juggle it's opponents in a ball of water with its nose is cute.

Im glad 20 years later, the starters are still creative and fun.

The hype is real.

Not sure if I want to go for edge lord cat or Blathers from animal crossing, they're both really cute. Both the legendaries look pretty cool, but bats are one of my favorite animals, so I gotta go for Moon. Hope there are going to be a lot of neat reptiley Pokemon considering the region is a tropical island.

I want to pick Rowlet, but I really don't like flying types. I'm actually completely in the middle between Dandy Owl and Hairball Flamethrower. I hope Litten evolves into a Fire/Poison type because of it's hairball attack trait. But if Rowlet turns out to be a Physical Attacker I'll have a run for my cheddar.

I am so sorry Popplio but... no. Bouncy bubbles just aren't enough to make me like you.

You're all wrong Popplio is the best because he tries his best no matter if he wins or loses

Totally getting Moon version; that legendary looks amazing. Also, Rowlett is an owl with a bowtie made of leaves. It must be mine.

Kinda bummed that this region isn't based on Spain or something; I was really hoping for a GSC-style connection to the previous gen's region.

As of right now, google imaging Litten just shows pictures of Hitler and some dude Hans Litten. This weird coincidence will soon change.

Just realised something with Rowlet being Grass/Flying.
If it stays Grass/Flying in its final form then.

Vs Blaziken.

Fire > Grass.
Fighting < Flying.

Let the Cockfighting Society battle begin.

Yeah... I'm guessing Popplio or its evolutionary kin will be able to learn Ice Beam. So Water definitely wins this gen.

Oh god no, I'd rather not have it be an Ice type, people are theorizing it might become a Water/Fairy type cuz of the clown motif, which is definitely welcome...I might get Popplio because all of my friends are picking Rowlet and we need diversity(And so we can trade starter eggs)

Also I just discovered that Rowlet is the first starter since Gen 1 to have two typings right off the bat. Bulbasaur was Grass and Poison type.

We already have two porpoises with water/ice typing, we don't need another. I would be so down if Popplio turns out to have fairy type in its evolutions, it would fit its whimsical nature

I love the fan art already.

Edit:
I was just thinking of what I would nickname the starters.

I was thinking about Popplio and it's circus look and being a water type. My 2 immediate thoughts were 2 Flotsams. Flotsam the Clown from Dark Chronicle and Flotsam the Eel from The Little Mermaid. "Flotsam would be a neat name!"

*Looks up the meaning of Flotsam*

"people or things that have been rejected or discarded as worthless."

I AM SO SORRY POPPLIO.

PS. What I would nickname the others:
I'd call Litten Orin. (Because of this.)
And I'd call Rowlet Blathers because Animal Crossing.

If I had to pick (and I do) I'm going for Sun because the legendary reminds me of Liger Zero from Zoids.

Also 20 bucks says that the fire starter evolves into Fire/Dark at some point

I'm naming my Popplio Pucci because it's a poochy and also it sounds like a name a clown would have
