Speaking of Chandelure-who I wanted to be my main, and has become my main- I cannot figure out one of its move.
Charging X then releasing will do that adorable pose, but I cannot figure out its/if it's got a purpose in battle.

It shortens the duration of negative status effects on Chandelure, and lengthens the duration of negative status effects on your opponent! :)

I am loving Machamp, other than his scary face move which doesn't really have a use outside of making your hand hurt trying to hold down the button and do other attacks.

Beat the Grand Master in Pokken.
Sceptile Skill Level 93.
Never used anything other than Sceptile so all my other Pokemon are still at level 1 and I have no clue how to use them properly.

I haven't looked at Chandelure's move list before but apparently all of its A button moves pierce counter attacks. That explains why those laser beams mess me up so much.

Looking through Chandy's moveset makes me wonder why this guy was classified as a power fighter.

Most of his moves are sort of weak compared to some one like Charizard or Machamp, and most of them inflict status effects.

This guy seems like more of a technique fighter like Gengar if anything.

Maybe but Chandelure can pump out some serious damage in the right circumstances. I feel like we should move Pokken discussion to the fighting game thread so as not to overload this one with talk of punching water dogs and dragons.

Pokkén has made Sceptile my #2 favourite. (Behind Groudon.)

I just want to play games as Sceptile now but I can't without deleting files and Pokkén is the only one that lets you start as Sceptile.

If I restart a Mystery Dungeon game I'll still only be a Treecko for pretty much the whole thing.
Can't restart Omega Ruby because limited Pokemon on it like Event Shiny Beldum and Mew and I'm not deleting them or their items.

And Super Mystery Dungeon. Now more than ever do I hate that connect system. I have a Sceptile connected, but more than half the time he won't even join me. Not to mention how much weaker he is than my team who have been boosted with loads of vitamins.

The title Pokkén gave me is right on the nose right now.

Wow, that's awesome! Thanks! It's gonna useful for my Hex or Overheat setups.

Except the beam attacks are Y attacks. The A attacks are:
  • Will O Wisp (5 fireballs forming a barrier),
  • Smog (close-range attack that does smoke),
  • Flame Burst (spews one fireball far that explodes mid-air if not charged)
  • [Duel]Hex (mid/long range grab),
  • [Duel]Overheat (a counter that gives its user negative status+looks fried).

Overheat is the move that always messes me up. It does about the same damage as Machamp's pumped up command grab from what I can tell.

Pokken is called Pokemon Tekken in Germany and that makes me sad.

Is Pokken already trademarked/used as a common phrase for something in Germany, or is it because people would recognize Pokemon and Tekken more separately?

This change may be due to the fact that the German word for smallpox, Pocken, has a similar pronunciation to the term Pokkén.
