Gen 2 is so good.

And even if you didn't like one Pokemon's sprite, there was another one in the companion game you might like better.

I still wonder why they did so many sprites for the Pokemon. I know one rumor was that a lot of them were beta "Pokemon 2" sprites that were updated while another team worked on new sprites, and eventually they decided "fuck it, make 2 of everything" but IDK.

Also the Japanese Blue sprites (our RB sprites) were made entirely for a postcard contest for corocoro subscribers where kids would send in post cards for a chance at an "exclusive" game. Then because demand was so high they released it in stores anyways later on.

I liked how all of Crystal's sprites were animated, it felt like meeting every Pokemon was an experience.

First time I met a Scyther in the park was magical.

Crystal's sprite animations were so much better than any of the animations the later games gave us. Having actual different frames and blinking looked cooler and nicer than distortion and movement.

So I was going to put up my summary of what I have so far for Cockfighting Society SUPER Mystery Dungeon's plot here... but I think I broke my mind halfway through writing it. Too many spoilers to put down.
So a quick summary of my playthrough so far: Good difficulty, plot = :psyduck:, Espurr is positively adorable.
Also I really hope I'm not the only one who bought the game... 'cuz In my eyes the game, is like, really solid. And I kinda-sorta want to hear other's thoughts on this.
Only problem to me is that they kinda just glaze over Klefki and Meowth compared to box-openers and dojo-type places from previous games when you first talk to them. The dungeon crawling is also a tad slow at first, buy I got used to it.
My score is 8.5/10.
Though if it was just me I'd give it 9.75/10.
I just love this game so much.

Oh, I'd love to tell you my thoughts on Super Mystery Dungeon. Come February next year, I'll be all over that game.

So Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon might have the best soundtrack in the entire series.

Thankfully I'm like a block from one so I don't have to travel far.

I feel like this applies to the majority of the people living inside the USA. And probably most first world countries.

ALPHA SAPPHIRE NUZLOCKE

Yeah I think I was doing a Y nuzlocke forever ago but Y is boring so fuck that. I decided to delete my AS save and restart, then decided to make it a nuzlocke run. You all know the rules, and I'm naming the team after forum members per tradition. To remove any semblance of your involvement, I've already chosen the starter and made some progress in the game. Current standings:

Valbrandur/Mudkip Lv. 9 - Starter
Blitz/Poochyena Lv. 7 - Route 101
Marcato/Lotad Lv. 8 - Route 102
Riku/Wingull Lv. 3 - Route 103

The DexNav is in play, but it won't interfere with the "first mon seen must be caught" rule. Otherwise I plan on abusing every resource available.

Quick question: are you Cockfighting Society-Amie-ing all of your team for maximum feels if they die?

That is definitely a resource that bears abuse.

And the super training, of course. We're facing Roxanne with full EVs.

hooray, nuzlockes.

My first runthrough of Omega Ruby was a Nuzlocke because I realised how stupid easy XY were. That was... a little brutal. Most of the game I did pretty well, but the elite four slaughtered me utterly. Only two guys made it out alive.

Then when May's credits battle fully healed my pokemon I said 'fuck it' and decided the power of love brought them back to life and I stopped nuzlocking for the Delta Episode.
