I think some of the skins are class specific, for animation purposes. Doom Guy is only for the human male rangers aka RAmar. (What ive been running with you guys)

The Sonic skins were originally an event on the Dreamcast version of the game for Sonic 10th anniversary. They were "hidden" in some places on Pioneer (Eggman was snooping in the bank for example).

My favorite part about the sonic skins is that weapons and gear are not scaled to them. Swords looks fantasticly silly in their hands.

I believe there is a rare called Sonic Knuckles, which is basically Knuckles' gloves.

that's basically the only place I go to right now as well.
