How do you get a legal Mew with Pokemon Ranch?

Please tell me so I know if it's worth downloading (not that I've ever really cared for micro-legendaried).

Deposit 250 Pokemon and Hayley will trade you a Phione if you give her a Leafeon. Its not as good as a Manaphy, but its still breedable so its valuable for trades.
Deposit 999 Pokemon and Hayley will trade you a Mew if you give her any type of egg. The ranch can only store 1000, by the way.
Oh, and you can't store all your Pokemon at once. You'll need to store them across at least 25 days. It really isn't an easy feat.

Not making that up! Quite a lot of the Pokemon spin-offs have rare pokemon you can trade back into the main games. For example, Pokemon Rangers: Shadows of Alma, aside from having a lot of pokemon altogether, has Manaphy and Darkrai.
In fact, there's only three truly event-only Pokemon now: Deoxys, Shyamin, and Arcaeus. All the others are avaliable via spin-offs, console series, or the Colosseum pre-order disks (Cerebii for the Japanese one, Jirachai for the US one).

[Link to Ranch tradeable pokemon], if you need more proof on Mew.

Actually, there was a Celebi event here in the U.S. too.
When I went to get my mew in Toys R. Us a kid traded me a celebi he got from another event.
He cloned it first though.
I also have Jirachi from the Pre-order disk (it wasn't my disk originally though).

I want Deoxy's. Lugia and Ho-oh too.
I don't have the patience to beat the 100 trainer thing in Coliseum though (plus I beat it once and it was the wrong mode! So no Ho-oh). And I never bothered to buy Gale of Darkness.

I still have my Ruby and FireRed, I'm planning on keeping those so that when the Gold and Silver remakes come out I can trade my old ruby pokemon.

Also, get Platinum. Pokemon Ranch is already compatible with Platinum in Japan. There should be an upgrade in the states in due time.

Saay... I'll trade a Ho-oh (yes, that 100-battle one) for a Jirachai... once I manage to transfer the Ho-oh into my 4th Gen game. It could be a while; I know how to get it over, but the friend who has the Gamecube and link is gone for... I don't know how long.

Nah, I don't know how to clone pokemon and I only have one Jirachi. It's one of the big three (or big four now I guess).

Also, I don't have a 4th generation game yet. I might get platinum but I'm not sure.
I'm mainly waiting for that Gold/Silver/Crystal remake.

Well there are plenty of brash/shameless references to G/S/C in Pokemon Platinum - so a re-release is getting more likely. I'd imagine it'll be released as a DS game though, rather than a GBA game.

If you're wondering, the references to G/S/C in Pokemon Platinum so far include:
* An NPC saying they know Prof. Elm, how he's faded into obscurity and how they wonder what he's doing these days.

* Another NPC saying something about Pokemon only caught in the G/S/C region.
There are more but I forget.

Jasmine actually shows up in the game.
Someone in Hearthorne also says that pokemon eggs were discovered by Elm.
At the start of the game they're talking about the Red Gyrados event which probably happened a few weeks or month before D/P/PL

Also, someone hacked the game (Pearl I think) and obtained a chikorita. In the stats it said it came from the distant land of Johto.

I'm pretty sure that this remake is going to be on the DS too. I'm just planning on taking these GBA pokemon and putting them in a friend's Pearl and then trading them to the remakes.

And it's actually possible to get Shymin via a glitch, apparently.

I'm pretty sure you can actually catch Togepi's in Diamond using the pokeradar on that small island in that stream-river thing on the island you unlock after completing the Sinnoh (or is it Shinnoh?) dex.

There's also a 'distant land' of Kanto/Hoenn/Sinnoh too.

Yeah, you can see why the "Johto Region" 'met in' part isn't a good indicator after all.

Yeah, but it's actaully possible to get Pokemon from Kanto, Hoenn and Sinnoh. There's no way to get Pokemon from Johto, though. At least not yet.

Yeah, if genuine, the hacker has revealed some forward-thinking on Nintendo's part.

They've set Platinum up to recognise Pokemon traded in from a future release of Pokemon Silver/Gold/Crystal version.

If it's genuine (I stress this).

No, I mean that "Sinnoh" and "Hoenn" are actually marked as a 'met at place', in the same sense that it'd normally say "Route 203" or "Snowpoint City". And last time I checked, there's no section in Hoenn called 'Hoenn'.

And DnD, that was in Diamond and Pearl. It's also in Platinum, but it started in D/P.
